About Amanda Mackanos, PMHNP-BC

Amanda Mackanos is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who earned her Bachelor's degree in nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She began her career as a behavioral crisis intake nurse in the emergency department of a Level 2 trauma center before transitioning into inpatient psychiatric care. With experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as in correctional facilities, Amanda demonstrates her commitment to mental health across various settings. While working in inpatient care, she earned her Master’s degree and Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University, fulfilling her goal of becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to address the growing mental health crisis in America.
