Hands down THE best doctor ever! I knockEd my head hard for why I hadn’t visited him early. Over the years I’ve had many PCPs under varies insurances from PPO, HMO to even MediCal during my unemployment, among all, Dr. Karbasi isShow more definitely THE best. He is caring, knowledgeable and personable. His old-fashioned manner makes me feel so warm and cared for the minute I start to talk to him. With other doctors, there is always a long wait for just a 2 min conversation. With Dr. Karbasi, he never makes you feel like he’s in a rush. He discusses my condition with his team, explains everything to me patiently, suggests the best solution possible, and recommends the best referrals to me!!! This just doesn’t happen often. And I knew I was in good hand the very first time I visited his office. Also, his team is a group of wonderful ladies. They are friendly, caring, and considerate. A good leader manages a good team. Welcome to Avicenna Medical Clinic, serving the Reseda, California community. Our Primary Care Physician, Dr. Aref Karbasi, is capable of diagnosing and treating a range of conditions for patients across their lifespan. In addition to family medicine, Dr. Karbasi has a special focus on cosmetic procedures including Botox, laser skin resurfacing, skin care, acne treatments and innovative procedures such as IV therapies, PRP (platelet rich plasma), and stem cell treatments. He and his skilled team of healthcare professionals are honored to serve you.
Dr. Karbasi earned his medical degree from the Azad Medical School at Azad University in Tehran, Iran. He went on to complete his pediatric residency at the Tehran Medical University Children’s Medical Center. He also completed a residency in family medicine and served as chief resident at the Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Columbus, Georgia. He is currently an Adjunct Faculty member and clinical Instructor at Kaiser Permanente residency program in Woodland Hills Medical center.
In addition to extensive medical training in Iran and the U.S., Dr. Karbasi holds many certifications, including Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Program. He is board-certified in family medicine by the American Academy of Family Physicians.

My first appt was a very good experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially when it came to setting up an appointment with Quest Diagnostic for a test. Dr. Karbasi was informative, kind, and showed a sly sense of humor that put me at ease. He also listened to me and didn't dismiss any of my speculations about anomalies in my recent medical history.
