About David Chapin, MD

I retired after 40 years of practice as a Harvard trained OB-GYN in Boston. Two years later I missed patient care, so I undertook training in Medication Addiction Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder. Since 2017 I have served as the Medical Director of an Addiction Medicine Clinic in a Boston suburb. I combined my previously perfected skills of patient communication with my newly acquired skills of managing addiction treatment with buprenorphine/suboxone. I was then able to provide empathetic, dignified medical care to a traditionally, stigmatized, shunned and distrusted group of people. It was gratifying to see patients whose lives had previously been as low as possible regain their jobs, their children, their self-respect, and an invitation from their mother to come home for Thanksgiving dinner. I have now established a Tele Health Practice providing medication addiction treatment with Buprenorphine/Suboxone. I will continue to provide care with Dignity, Respect and Compassion.
