David Newby has worked in mental health for almost 20 years. His passion, expertise, knowledge, and commitment to his patients are the keys to his success. He earned his Associate's degree from St. Petersburg College, a Master's in Nursing from the University of South Florida, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Miami. For the past 8 years, he has practiced as an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, largely focused on helping individuals with complex and treatment-resistant illnesses. He believes everyone deserves an improved quality of life and is driven to help his patients find effective treatment options. David Newby focuses on treating ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorders, depression, psychotic disorders, OCD, PTSD, and more. He is dedicated to using evidence-based options to help his patients find relief and enhance their overall well-being. David's approach to care is centered around you, the patient. He understands that you know your life and experiences best, and he places great importance on grasping your individual perspective, needs, and aspirations. David is committed to listening carefully to truly comprehend what you're saying. During the initial appointment, a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation will be conducted to assess your mental health needs, and a personalized treatment plan will be developed to address your specific concerns. Our follow-up appointments involve reviewing and adjusting medications as necessary. They may also involve brief therapy to optimize your mental health treatment.
