Dylan Usenick, originally from the Ohio Valley, is a United States Navy Veteran who served on active duty as a Hospital Corpsman from 2006-2011. After completing his enlistment, he was accepted into an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU) in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
Dylan graduated with his BSN in 2015 and relocated to Bend, Oregon, where he was employed as a charge nurse in an acute care facility. In 2017 Dylan began working as a corrections nurse at the Deschutes County Adult Jail in Bettnd, Oregon. He was privileged to work beside great men and women of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office and Bend Police Department. While working corrections and caring for the inmate population, Dylan was accepted into an accelerated Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Western Governors University with a focus on Organizational Leadership and Management and graduated within one year.
In 2018, Dylan began working in federal service in the Family Medicine Department at Naval Hospital Bremerton, Bremerton, WA. Throughout his employment within the Family Medicine Department, Dylan knew that he wanted to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) ultimately. He loves caring for and treating patients of all ages, providing education, teaching, and doing procedures.
In 2021, Dylan was accepted into Purdue University, where he began his FNP coursework. In 2021, Dylan and his family relocated to Clarksville, Tennessee, and transferred into the Austin Peay State University Family Nurse Practitioner program. Dylan will graduate with honors in August of this year.
Dylan and his wife, Jennifer, are proud parents of their two boys, ages 17 and 10, and have two labs, Otto and Bailee (pictured). In his free time, Dylan enjoys coaching his youngest son's football team, fishing, doing yard work, spending quality time with his family, and working a part-time job at Crane Fitness Equipment Company.
