Dr. Edward B Blackmon Jr. was born and raised in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He earned his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Madigan Army Medical Center.
He served as a Medical officer in the US Army Reserves reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was recalled to active duty for Operation Desert Storm. While in private practice in Akron, Ohio he was also an Associate Clinical Professor at North Eastern Ohio University College of Medicine.
He practiced In Jourdanton, Texas from 2005 to 2020 serving terms as Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery. Methodist Hospital System closed the Maternity Service Line in July 2020, and he relocated his practice to join Dr Al-Hakeem in September 2020.Dr Blackmon has experience and interest in many aspects of OB-GYN including High-Risk Obstetrics, Minimally invasive surgery, and Female Incontinence. He believes in caring for women throughout their entire life span.

I didn’t get the call, I took time out of work to receive his call. But he never called. I then stayed late at work to make up my time and missed his call at 5:24p….. not happy.

Dr. Edward Blackmon actually took an hour with me to listen to all my concerns as I haven't been able to conceive in over 11 years. He took a different approach and sent me to do labs this upcoming month, hoping this resolves all of my issues.

The staff is attentive, quick and friendly! During my visit with Dr. Leslie Brown, she was also attentive, patient with my questions and concerns and best of all she gave me all the information I needed to feel confident I understood everything from our visit as I left, and that all my needs and concerns were addressed.

I love Dr. Blackmon he took care of me with my last pregnancy. I wouldn’t change doctors at all he is so sweet if you have questions he will answer them. When I would go in with a concern I would leave at ease I would recommend Dr. Blackmon to anyone that is pregnant or wants to become pregnant staff is very friendly as well..
Took care of me and didnt just come in with an attitude and tell me i wasnt pregnet and leave like centro med. i explained i toook two test came out positive at centro med doc was rude didnt even sit down to talk to me. Went home took another three test all positive . Cane here and well what do you know positive.:). Nurse was wonderful and doc came in and exxplained everthing to me . Definetly will recommend!!!
I have had 2 pregnancies with these doctors so far and by far, it’s one of my favorite and most recommended places to go too for pregnancy/birth, they are very sweet and caring and really pay attention to you.

I love Dr. Blackmon he has been my doctor for all 6 of my kids. He is the best and wouldn't change. What sucks is the wait time at this clinic I like going to the 151 location because they are a lot faster but where my doctor is I go.
I did appreciate Dr returning my call at the end of business day.

My goodness! This place gets busy busy busy! I’ve never seen so many very pregnant ladies in one place at the same time! Yet the staff and doctors do n amazing job keeping their cool, quick, efficient and helpful. The visit felt rushed compared to any other women’s clinic I have been to in my life time BUT as I mentioned in the beginning , I have never seen so many super pregnant women in one place . I was cool with the rushed visit, the pregnant ladies needed more attention than I did! I just went in for routine annual check up. The doctor was friendly, strongly knowledgeable n obviously experienced!
