I was sincerely glad that I chose this medical office. Everything from my first step into the office was fine. Very friendly staff at the front desk. Absolutely professional medical staff. To be honest, I don't like visiting doctShow moreors because I always encounter rude staff. But this is not about the staff in Dr. Faina Axelrod's office. I’ve been going to this office for around seven years. Dr. Akselrod is my gynecologist in this practice. She is a very fabulous physician, and she’s very kind as well. Faina Akselrod, MD, FACOG, FACS, is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. At Advanced Gynecology & Surgery in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn, New York. She focuses on providing individualized gynecologic care to women of all ages.
Dr. Akselrod earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn before going on to receive training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Nassau University Medical Center.
Shortly after completing her training, Dr. Akselrod was sought out to serve as the medical center’s director of family planning and colposcopy. While in this prestigious role, Dr. Akselrod greatly contributed to national and international clinical research in the fields of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Oncology.
Today, she is a fellow of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Akselrod always places the doctor/patient relationship above all else, striving to ensure that all of her patients receive the individualized care they deserve. That’s why she and Genia Bekker, MD, FACOG, FACS, launched Advanced Gynecology & Surgery in 2006.
