About Miss Ingrid Middleton, LCSW

Ingrid Middleton, LCSW, MSW, MA, MS is a seasoned psychotherapist whose work integrates trauma-informed care, somatic awareness, and psychodynamic insight. With decades of experience across hospital systems, private practice, and telehealth, she specializes in helping individuals navigate complex grief, eating disorders, relational trauma, and identity transitions. Ingrid holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, along with graduate training in psychology and interdisciplinary studies. Her clinical foundation was shaped in medical centers, where she developed a deep understanding of the intersection between physical and emotional suffering. Over time, she transitioned into longer-term therapeutic work, supporting clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Her approach is both relational and body-centered. Ingrid helps clients explore not only thoughts and emotions, but also the ways distress is held in the nervous system. She is particularly interested in how unresolved grief and trauma manifest somatically, and how these experiences can be processed through attuned, experiential work. In addition to her clinical practice, Ingrid is developing professional training in somatic grief processing, designed to help clinicians integrate body-based approaches into their work. She has a strong interest in cultural psychology and brings a thoughtful awareness of identity, environment, and belonging into the therapeutic space. Known for her grounded presence and depth, Ingrid creates a space where clients can safely explore difficult emotional experiences and begin to shift long-standing patterns. Her work is guided by the belief that healing emerges through insight, connection, and the gradual restoration of internal coherence.
