J. Matthew Knight, MD, is a nationally recognized, board-certified Mohs surgeon and dermatologist who specializes in skin cancer, micrographic dermatologic surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. He is the founder of Knight Dermatology Institute: A Forefront Dermatology Practice, which has locations in Winter Park, Lake Mary, Melbourne, and Orlando, Florida.
Dr. Knight has built lasting relationships with his patients for more than 15 years, providing exceptional medical care and aesthetic services. His expertise has been featured in local and national news programs and magazines.
Dr. Knight serves as the Chief of Dermatology for Orlando Health and was the founder and first director of the Orlando Health UF Health Melanoma & Skin Cancer Center.

A native of Orlando, Dr. Knight attended Lake Highland Preparatory School. He then studied medical sciences while pursuing his undergraduate degree in English literature at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He obtained his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
Dr. Knight completed his internship at the University of Hawaii, with concentrations in general, vascular, and plastic surgery. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Kansas, returning home to Orlando in 2004 to start his practice.
Dr. Knight is past-president of the Florida Academy of Dermatology (FAD/FSDDS) and the Central Florida Society of Dermatology (CFSD). He is former chair of the Dermatology PAC of Florida. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), where he holds several leadership positions. Dr. Knight is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He holds professional affiliations with the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, the Florida Medical Association, and a variety of other medical service organizations.

Excellent great pleasure
Joanna knew exactly what was going on with the discoloration on my leg. She also noticed another spot on my other leg that needed to be biopsies. I was so thankful I was able to be seen so quickly! I had gone to a walk in clinic a few days before. They gave me an antibiotic ointment and oral antibiotics. I only used the ointment thankfully because the discoloration had nothing to do with an infection.
Very kind and well informed of my particular skin problems. No waiting at all and I’m impressed with the care I received
