About Jose Salas, MD

Jose Salas, MD, is an O.B./G.Y.N. practicing at Living Water Community Health and Wellness Clinic in Woodlake and Porterville, California.

Born and raised in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Dr. Salas's journey into the medical field was influenced by a deep passion for helping others and a fascination with the complexities of the human body. He pursued his education at Universidad Autonoma De San Luis Potosi, Facultad De Medicina, where he graduated with a medical degree in 1969 and continued his studies at the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine, graduating in 1971.

After completing his education, Dr. Salas began his career as a general practitioner and surgeon in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. His professional journey has taken him through various roles, including serving as a Certified Nurse Assistant in San Fernando, California, and working as a house officer/surgical assistant in Wheeling, West Virginia. He completed his residency and was Chief Resident in obstetrics and gynecology at West Virginia University School of Medicine - Wheeling Division. Over the years, he has worked as a staff physician and surgeon at Porterville Family Health Center, Inc., and established a successful private practice as an OB/GYN at Raul Salas, M.D., Inc., in Porterville, California. He currently serves the community at Clinica Agua Viva in Lindsay, California, where he provides comprehensive and compassionate care in OB/GYN and family practice. 

Dr. Salas's Christian foundation and strong faith values provide him with strength, compassion, and a sense of purpose in serving others. This spiritual grounding is integral to his approach to healthcare, guiding him to offer care with empathy and dedication. Dr. Salas offers a range of specialized services. He guides patients through a healthy and happy pregnancy journey with his prenatal care. For women of all ages, he provides comprehensive care with a focus on preventive health measures. His family planning services offer tailored solutions to meet individual needs, and he assists and supports couples on their journey to parenthood through infertility services. 

Outside of the medical field, Dr. Salas enjoys playing guitar and singing in a band. Music allows him to express himself creatively and maintain a balanced life, helping him stay connected to his personal joy and well-being.
