Judy is board certified as a family nurse practitioner with prior experience as a health care practitioner in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases in California before moving to North Carolina and joining Carolina Vein Institute. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University and accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida. Prior to starting her career as a nurse practitioner, Judy received her first Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Cell Sciences and continued on to a Ph.D program in the Biomedical Sciences for many years before making the switch to nursing.
Judy lives in Cary with her husband and son and enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, exploring new places and spending time with family and friends.

The facility was very nice, modern and clean. I was greeted warmly by Karen and given information to fill out. There was a Short wait. The Doppler/sonogram operator was very professional and accommodating.Dr. Baquero was professional, quick to diagnose my condition after reviewing records sent from referring physicians and test results but aloof. While he talked of treatment options like physical therapy and alluded to local recommendations when I checked out the attending staff was unable to locate the potential referrals information and Karen ended up giving me a website. I was disappointed that the specific contact information and a referral that were made by and discussed with the doctor were not forthcoming. I left feeling relieved about the diagnosis but left hanging about next steps having assumed that would be in the information given at checkout. One final concern that keeps be from giving a higher rating was that after checkout, my blood pressure was taken and was unusually elevated with no comment or follow up.
My visit and contact from checking in to checking out was great. Everyone was very nice, friendly and helpful. My provider was nice, friendly and very informative. Great experience all around.

Very nice workers….Hope my venous injections go well.
I waited 3 months before I could get an appointment. Then after getting an ultrasound of my legs I was told I only had spider vein, but i could get injections to see if they would go away. So I decided I would move forward with this procedure. Then when I came for my first injection, I was told that my spider veins would spread & probably turn dark. This was such a let down for me. Why couldn't this issue been diagnosed at first?

Some days I stand almost 8 hours at a time as a busy hairdresser. My legs have never felt or looked better. I had prominent varicose veins when I arrived. Dr. Baquero and his office team are WONDERFUL to work with! Now I have the right legs for my tennis skirts!!

Dr Baquero is absolutely the best! I have been traveling from Hilton Head to Raleigh now for the last 6 weeks for my unsightly bulging hand veins that I inherited! I want my hands to look young without veins showing. I plan to get fat transfer once it's completed! He is so kind and not to mention brilliant! No matter how much work a plastic surgeon does for one's face or neck the real age shows in the hands. So I am in my fifties and decided to rejuvenate my hands before anything else!
