My partner and I had a lovely encounter with Dr. Weinman. She was easy to talk to, asked for our input, was very responsive to our needs/wants (e.g., accommodating us at another location), and made sure we understood what she was Show moretalking about. I do think two things would have made our experience a little better. First, the reception staff are not as warm as you might think, given how people who visit a fertility clinic may be enduring some especially difficult times. I don't expect over-the-top friendliness, but they were rather cold. Second, I wish there was a way to expedite the family history portion of the visit (like having patients fill out the forms ahead of time online) or cut down on the waiting time. We arrived a few minutes early for our 11:30am appointment and didn't see Dr. Weinman until shortly after 1:00pm.
We have 2 healthy sons thanks to Dr. Gago and her team. We are now working on a 3rd child. Dr. Gago is phenomenal. She’s kind and caring but also confident and decisive. Her office setting doesn’t feel like a doctors office; Show moreit’s warm and soothing which is so helpful and comforting as you are going through the ups and downs of the process. Her entire team from receptionist, to nurses drawing blood, to ultrasound techs, has always been nothing but helpful and kind during our many interactions over the years. We are forever grateful to have Dr. Gago side by side with us on our journey to building our family.
Laura April Gago, MD, is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, as well as the medical director of Gago Center for Fertility, with locations in Brighton, Lansing, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Gago has been cultivating personalized fertility care for couples throughout the community since launching the practice in 2007.
After graduating from medical school at the University of California at San Diego, Dr. Gago and her husband decided to return to her native Ann Arbor to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Michigan.
Following her residency, Dr. Gago went on to complete a rigorous reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, where she ultimately accepted an assistant clinical professor position. Just one year later, Dr. Gago became the University of Michigan In Vitro Fertilization Medical Director, during which time she developed the Fertility Preservation Program and the Donor Oocyte Program.
Dr. Gago’s goal was always to have the freedom to provide state-of-the-art fertility care and complementary wellness programs for couples trying to conceive. That’s why she launched Gago Center for Fertility nearly 12 years ago.
Since then, the practice has grown to serve more couples in the Brighton, Lansing, and Ann Arbor communities. In 2014, Dr. Gago opened Gago IVF, an IVF lab in a peaceful setting, so that couples can enjoy individualized fertility care in a comfortable environment.
Dr. Gago is passionate about helping couples start the family of their dreams. At Gago Center for Fertility, she can do just that.

Dr. Gago has performed 2 of our frozen embryo transfers. She is such a caring person (gives us 'good luck hugs' after each of our transfers, and called sometime after our first miscarriage just to check on us and answer any questions we might have), and is also incredibly smart! As a medical professional myself, I feel like I am in good hands with Dr. Gago. I highly recommend her!!
Dr. Gago and team are a pleasure to work with. They are attentive and understanding to your sensitive journey and are very helpful. Follow up communication with the office is always a quick turnaround, no matter if it’s day, night or a weekend. I highly recommend this practice.

My experience was great with Dr. Weinman. She listened to all my concerns and advised me accordingly. She deserves a five star. The only bad experience I am having is with administration. I’ve been trying to call the billing department for two weeks now because I want to move forward with fertility treatment, but needed some clarification on a few points before moving forward. I’ve left messages with no response. It’s frustrating because now I’ve missed my current cycle and have to wait for my next cycle to proceed with treatment. I am now second guessing with proceeding due to this experience.
Dr Gago is the best! Nurses Sam and Mary are also truly amazing at their jobs!!

Had a scheduling miscommunication. We needed to re-schedule our initial appointment and it was moved to the following week, however, the procedures were based on cycle time and that coordination did not occur correctly. In this case we drove from a few hours away to be told the procedures were not possible.
Dr Gago & her has been great to work with and walks through all options and procedures ahead of time providing as much information as possible!
My appointment was at noon and I was not seen until 1:30. The doctor was thorough and provided good feedback, but wanted us to continue coming back.... We had only been referred for 1 test.
Dr Weinman was very nice, knowledgeable and great with getting the ball rolling regarding our fertility journey, as well as still being mindful of my health and making sure the pregnancy wouldn’t be of risk for me.
Everyone is always great to us and helpful. Dr. Gago talked with us before and after our egg retrieval and answered all our questions.

The doctor is late to telehealth appointments. She is not friendly and almost seems annoyed when you ask questions. The practice is prompt getting back to you if you leave a message. The staff that answers the phone is nice and helpful.
