I had the stem cell therapy done on both of my knees yesterday My right knee is at stage 4 and the left at a stage 2. While I was initially very nervous the people here quickly put me at ease. The nurse, Amanda, was upbeat, comShow moreforting, and willing to answer questions prior to Dr. Oliver's arrival. Dr. Oliver was fantastic! She explained what she was doing every step of the way. I had a basic idea of the procedure from the literature on the website and from the calls from the nurses prior to my appointment (who were also very helpful) her explanation was much appreciated. She is so very kind and caring. I became aware of her skills from hearing about the large number of people who had gone to her from the county where I grew up, and knew that if they were driving a considerable distance (about 6 hours) to see her that she must have a lot of success. Everyone here is wonderful. I had expected pain from what I had read and was told, but the procedure really wasn't that bad. We drove 11 hours home that same day and I was only a bit stiff and sore in the knees. Today is the second day and I'm getting around better than I have in a long time. If the rest of the recovery goes as well as it has so far, I'll will be thrilled! I highly recommend Dr. Oliver and her team!
I would have liked to have forms that office/ doctor wanted filled out prior to my office visit. I was kept moving between arrival, testing and speaking to medical assistant at the same time I was expected to have the forms fillShow moreed out. Dr. Bayes was great! at resolving my issue with the treatment he provided for me but I felt it wasn’t a “first time visit with a new doctor”. After office visit with doctor was done, I was asked to sign for a future procedure and given a folder to take home when nothing about this was discussed. I felt rushed out and didn’t have time to think of the questions I needed to ask since I didn’t know what was wrong with my knee when I came in for appointment. I do appreciate! that Dr. Bayes resolved my knee issue for now and I feel much better.
Matt Bayes, MD practices sports medicine and specializes in regenerative orthopedics at Bluetail Medical Group. Dr. Bayes welcomes patients in Chesterfield, Missouri and Darien, Connecticut. Dr. Bayes treats professional athletes and weekend warriors alike and focuses on non-operative methods of treatment and rehabilitation. He strives to keep patients moving during their recovery to limit their time away from the game. He’s also skilled in the use of ultrasound for diagnostic and needle-guided procedures.
After receiving his medical degree from Saint Louis University, Dr. Bayes completed his pediatric internship and residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. He then moved across the country to Beaufort, South Carolina, where he spent four years as a staff pediatrician and was named the chief of pediatrics at Naval Hospital Beaufort.
In 2008, Dr. Bayes returned to Saint Louis University to complete his fellowship in primary care sports medicine and subsequently earned his board certification.
Before joining Bluetail Medical Group in 2011, Dr. Bayes practiced at the Sports Medicine Institute at the Orthopedic Center of St. Louis. He has extensive experience teaching regenerative medicine and diagnostic ultrasound techniques to physicians from throughout the United States and around the world.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Bayes enjoys jogging, working out, attending youth sports, and spending time with his wife, Jaime, and their kids, Ellie, Tyler, and Josie.

Dr. Bayes is amazing. He was able to dial in on the location of my knee pain and get me back to normal. I have had a few treatments at Bluetail on different parts and ailments. Knee, foot and they fix me every time.

Dr. Bayes is awesome! He is direct and too the point and leaves nothing to question. I am about 70 percent better than before I had my Stem Cell procedure. I still have a pretty long road before I am completely back to doing all the things I enjoy, but overall I am very happy with my experience at bluetail and Dr. Bayes and all the staff! Thank You guys! I just hope I can stay out of knee replacement for at least another 5-8 years!

My experience with Dr Bayes was fantastic. We met to determine if he could help me avoid surgery for my torn hamstring tendon. He was confident he could so we did the PRP and stem cell injections. Within 3 months, I’m about 75% pain free and expect to only go up from there. Working with him and the group was terrific. I would recommend anyone to at least talk to him to see if he can help you.

Very informative, had patience, takes the time to actually listen to any questions or concerns you might have. You do not feel rushed. He explains the procedure thoroughly so you know exactly what to expect. And actually takes time to ask questions about YOU...so he can get to know u better as a person.
