Rabah Qadir, MD, is also known as The Bone Fixer™. As a board certified, orthopedic trauma fellowship trained surgeon, Dr. Qadir specializes in managing the full spectrum of musculoskeletal injuries. From simple fractures and sports injuries to severely injured polytrauma patients, Dr. Qadir prioritizes the injured patient. He offers same day evaluation and early surgery, if indicated, to help injured patients return to their pre-injury state as soon as possible. The elective side of his practice involves arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement of all major joints, being one of the first adopters of the direct anterior hip replacement and robotic assisted knee replacement in his region. Additionally, Dr. Qadir offers limb lengthening surgery, for both traumatic leg length discrepancy as well as bilateral procedures for those patients who wish to be taller.
Dr. Qadir earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. He graduated with honors while participating in varsity lacrosse and football at the Division 1 level, including an NCAA national championship lacrosse team. Dr. Qadir received his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, earning numerous awards, including the E. Edward McCool Jr. Award for top surgery student, and induction into the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Honor Society.
He continued residency training in orthopedic surgery at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, he trained under team doctors for the New Orleans Pelicans and the New Orleans Saints.
Dr. Qadir completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at world-renowned R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, which is the only freestanding trauma hospital in the country. It houses the oldest, most distinguished fellowship of its kind.
He served as either the Vice Chief or Chief of Orthopedics at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center from 2017 to 2024 and continues to help lead the orthopaedic trauma service. Under his leadership, Dr. Qadir helped the facility achieve and maintain the American College of Surgeons Level 2 Trauma Center designation.
Dr. Qadir also serves as director of the Outpatient Joint Replacement Program at Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Woodlands Parkway. He’s an active member of AO Trauma, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
Dr. Qadir maintains his advanced credentials with continuing education. He’s conducted numerous research studies as a primary investigator, earning prestigious grants from Ochsner Clinic and AO North America. He’s authored numerous peer-reviewed journal article publications and presented his work locally, nationally, and internationally while earning numerous academic awards. He continues to be involved in educating other surgeons as a visiting lecturer and as a surgeon mentor.

I scheduled an appointment 8/26 because I had been asked by my pcp to see a spot hernia doctor. I was told that would be an orthopedic surgeon so I searched for one in my area and found Dr. Qadir. I explained what I needed and was told I needed a referral. I did not need a referral per my insurance but the representative insisted that the doctor requires a referral. I called my pcp and requested a referral which they said they would have it sent the same day - this was 5 days before my appointment. Day before my appointment someone from Dr Qadirs office called me in the evening to let me know that they did not get a referral but will keep my appointment I get to my appointment and the representative says they did not get a referral and that I would have to pay out of pocket. I then call my pcp and after trying several times pcp representative says they were still waiting for the referral to be approved by the insurance. I had explained to them too that my insurance had said I did not needed a referral. they said may be that would be the delay but they would look into it. I did not know how long that would take and I did not want to miss my appointment so I asked how else can I handle it. Dr Qadir rep said I could pay cash $272. I went ahead and paid. She included and xray even though I had recent mri and scan. upon seeing the doctor he determined that I did not need to see him I needed to see a different doctor Fields James. I was very disappointed that I had gone through all of that only to not get any help. I have called the insurance and they say the doctors office submitted a claim and was paid my co-pay should have been $40. I feel this could be a better process and it should be handled better. I felt like the representatives I spoke with did not know how to handle anyone who had I different insurance other than HMO and the other common one I do not recall the name of it. I was already unwell and the stress caused was not necessary.

I highly recommend Dr. Qadir! He is kind, patient and answered my myriad of questions both before surgery and on subsequent visits. Additionally, my wrist surgery that required a titanium plate with 6 screws barely left a scar while exceeding expectations in its healing timeline. I am grateful for Dr. Qadir’s surgical skills & care. If I ever need his specialty again, Dr. Qadir is my 1st choice!
I love Dr Qadir, however, I wish he wasn’t quite as rushed during his appointments. But I feel he is one of the best skilled surgeons I have had work on me.

Great communication and clear path forward and expectations
Other than a long wait in the reception this was a great appointment. Once called it was just minutes before I had xrays, then sent to a room. Then in a few minutes Lexi showed up with a report in the xrays. She told me of the options and then explained the one I chose. She Left and in a few minutes came back with my injection, did the injection professionally and with very little pain. She is the best. Thanks to all in the office from checkin to checkout.

Spoke with Dr Qadir on my visit and he gave me options that I could do for the pain in my wrist. From conservative to surgery and I went with his advice on the more conservative side to see how it heals. He was very pleasant to meet and speak to.
