Dr. Ruiz has a very friendly team! I felt comfortable there during my visit and feel that my concerns were taken care of. I do wish I had gotten a little more "play by play" on what was happening during my visit. The dr. was cauteShow morerizing my nose and I didn't even know it, because he never said what he was doing. I got a handout afterward on how to stop nose bleeds and he went into detail about quick ways to stop them, BUT, it would have been nice to get some information (maybe in a printout to refer back to once at home) on what to expect after cauterization, a reminder on the dos and don'ts after cauterization, etc.... I'm hoping this feedback helps improve care for others in the future.
Dr. Ruiz and staff are highly educated, knowledgeable and caring. They protect their patients by requiring “proof of vaccination,” masks and social distance. I was misdiagnosed in 2010 by an ENT and PCP in Temecula. I know my bodShow morey and knew something wrong. I was referred by another ENT to Dr. Ruiz. He immediately recognized a tumor behind my ear. An MRI and Biopsy confirmed it was malignant. He sent me to fellow Yale grad at UCSD and tumor removed. I AM ALIVE because of Dr. Ruiz expertise and brilliant mind. Any bad review may possibly be as result of former patients forcing them to close temporarily due to non disclosure of covid. Sadly some politicized this pandemic and refuse to protect self and others.

Dr. Ruiz received a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where he graduated with honors in research. Even at this early stage in his career, he established himself as a serious researcher, publishing multiple articles in peer-reviewed science and medical journals.
After graduating from UCI, Dr. Ruiz attended medical school at the prestigious Yale University Medical School in New Haven, Connecticut. In his first year, he was elected president of the student council, a position typically held by a fourth-year medical student.
During his time at Yale, Dr. Ruiz continued to publish his work in various medical journals and presented his findings at meetings at various institutions, including Harvard Medical School and the American College of Surgeons, and Yale Surgical Grand Rounds. He spent years doing basic and applied medical research, culminating in his thesis The Treatment of Melanoma with Immunotherapy.
Dr. Ruiz completed a general surgery internship and residency at Yale University Medical Center, then entered a three-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the same facility. While he was a resident, he competed for and won the Temporal Bone Dissection Award, which is given to one resident each year.
In his last year at Yale, Dr. Ruiz served as a lecturer in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. During that time, he developed an expertise in the fields of endoscopic sinus surgery, nasal surgery, ear surgery, head and neck tumors, and reconstruction of cancer defects of the head and neck.
Dr. Ruiz is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

I love going to Dr Ruiz’s office! Everyone is so friendly and there is hardly ever any waiting time! I’ve had sinus problems most of my life and Dr Ruiz fixed them and I’m breathing so much better! I would highly recommend Dr Ruiz if you are in the need of an ENT! My grandson is going to him as well for an ear issue!

The doctor and staff were welcoming and businesslike. They listened well and answered all my questions. It was a long wait but not unexpected because I was taking the place of a cancellation and was happy to get in at an earlier date.
