All of the staff, including Dr. Matthews were friendly and created a comfortable environment. After a very brief discussion, Dr. Matthews and I decided on a medication that she would prescribe, but she didn’t even tell me the nameShow more of it, and I didn’t realize that until after I left. She just told me what kind of pill it was. I went to my pharmacy later that day to pick it up and they didn’t even have anything on record of the prescription being sent over. Dr. Matthews didn’t go over the instructions for taking the pill, which again I didn’t realize until after the visit. I have taken similar ones before so I guess she assumed I knew, but I still feel like she should have gone over it with me, especially since this is a different one and is taken slightly differently, based on what I’ve read online. Overall an okay visit, but I’m going to have to call the office to see what happened to my prescription
Jeannie is great but the wait time before being seen is consistently too long. This is my third visit and each time, the waiting room has been full or nearly full, and I have witnessed patients/clients frustrated with their wait tShow moreime and repeatedly asking front desk staff “how much longer?” As such, the office appears disorganized, and communication between staff seems lacking. The tech came into my treatment room (the door was closed) as I was getting dressed to start turning the room for the next patient. She didn’t realize I was in there and was startled when she saw me. Some system flaws such as that could use some work. But every practitioner I have seen once I am in the treatment room has been caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable.
Sarah Shami, DMSc, MSPAS, PA, is a Physician Assistant (PA) whose main focus is providing care dedicated to Women’s Health. Sarah advanced her education in the PA profession and obtained a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) in PA education.
Sarah has always been providing passionate care in Women’s Health clinically, but has a niche for teaching as well. Sarah was a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, and a Clinical Coordinator in a PA program at a CUNY college in NY.
Sarah was born and raised in NY, and recently relocated to NJ with her husband, son, and two cats, in order to provide a better lifestyle for her family. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, exploring new adventures and nurturing her cats. She is an avid cat lover, so don’t hesitate to talk about pets and animals with her!
