I didn’t have time to complete my paperwork before I was called back. The nurse completed checking my vital signs & said someone one be to get me for pulmonary testing. The door barely closed before it opened again, & I was taken Show morefor testing. After testing was complete, Dr Byrd was right there to review the results & discuss my CT Scan. She is a very busy physician but is unhurried, allowing plenty of time for questions & pleasant conversation. The clearance that I needed for surgery was faxed before I left the office & Dr Byrd said she would also send a message directly to my surgeon with further details. The whole team was very efficient & never kept me waiting, but Dr Byrd is the most awesome of all!
Dr. Byrd seems quite knowledgeable & is very professional. I like her fine. I know it's a process but I'm struggling & she knows. She/we are trying some new meds for a 4 mo. old issue (she wasn't involved the whole time). A coupleShow more things seem maybe a bit better but others seem worse. Shortness of breath is TERRIBLE ! Can't do anything. Been on oxygen since Thursdeay 3/30 & oxygen levels are worse( 74, 75 in am, struggling to get to 88-90, even with all breathing treatments & new inhaler it's Sun 4/2). She has done a bronchoscopy & says no cancer, no fungus. Thinks inflammation but what's causing is issue !!
Dr. Byrd comes to StatCare to practice in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine with a special interest in advanced pulmonary diagnostics utilizing bronchoscopic computer navigation and endobronchial ultrasound techniques for diagnosing lung lesions. She graduated from Harvard University in 1986. Dr. Byrd completed both Residency in 1995 and her Fellowship in 1998 at the University of Alabama. She received her board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1995, Pulmonary Disease in 1998, Critical Care Medicine in 2010 and currently remains board certified in these fields. Dr. Byrd is the Medical Director for Outpatient Services for StatCare. She is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the Tennessee Medical Association.

Dr. Byrd is excellent…she always provides professional and courteous care… The receptionist in the front when I came in May me wait about five minutes or so while she did something on the computer…other than that is was a great office visit
