I was recently referred to Dr. Gentry by my primary care physician and met with her for the first time on Monday, April 17, 2017. Trusting the referral, but having no previous knowledge of Dr. Gentry, I acquainted myself with herShow more through Google and was pleased with what I read. As well, I reviewed numerous patient comments on Google, and was quite impressed and reassured that Dr. Gentry was, indeed, a physician who was highly regarded by all. Even so, I was still a bit nervous prior to my appointment with Dr. Gentry because I knew that I had a medical concern that, more than likely, would require surgery. However, shortly after Dr. Gentry entered the room, her soft-spoken voice, gentle and caring manner, and pleasant demeanor put me at ease. She patiently listened to what I had to say and appeared genuinely interested in me as a person, and in addressing my medical issue. After examining me, Dr. Gentry informed me that, yes, I would require surgery and explained to me her findings, pointing out photos of my concern on a chart. She described the surgical procedure that she would be performing, in detail, and assured me that my problem was quite fixable and that she would fix it. I felt comfortable throughout the appointment, and truly appreciated the time Dr. Gentry spent with me and the valuable information that she provided. She is experienced, competent and comforting. I am currently in the process of scheduling my surgery and feel quite confident that all will go well. I am very happy with my decision to select Dr. Gentry as my gynecologist; and from what I have experienced, thus far, I recommend her to any woman who is seeking top-notch gynecological care!
A co-worker recommended Dr. Gentry so switched. Little did i know my first visit with her would be a 6 week ultrasound for my son. Gentry is hands down the best OB i have had (and i have had numerous in my 38 years). She listens Show moreand accommodates, balancing western medicine with intuition. She was open and honest about vaccinations and tests needed during pregnancy, working with me to make the best decisions based on current research. I had a several medical complications with my pregnancy and Gentry communicated via phone and email regularly. When i got my c section, she was personal and human as she talked thru the entire procedure. I have seen friend's incisions and recovery stories and mine looks clean, skilled, and recovery was short. This is because of Gentry's skilled hands with the knife and knowledge of the female anatomy. I am very critical of doctors and Dr. Gentry is a gifted medical angel and i feel blessed to have worked with her for this pregnancy and beyond. She is personal, intuitive, down to earth, professional and an expert in her craft, keeping herself up to date with current medical trends and advancements. There is a reason she is featured in so many medical publications... a star in her field. My only critique would be that she runs about :15-30 minutes late for office visits... but was worth the wait for me.
Yvette Gentry, M.D. is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology practicing at East Bay Women’s Health in Oakland and Alameda, California. Her interest lies in alternatives to hysterectomies, laparoscopic surgeries, and fibroid management while continuing to provide comprehensive prenatal care and supporting patients’ desires to have a minimal intervention natural birth experience.
