Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
I offer medication management as well as psychotherapy and CBT for a wide range of psychiatric conditions. I use a holistic approach in order to treat the client as a whole, and encourage alternative treatment therapies as well. My goal is to establish a trusting and therapeutic relationship, in efforts to promote a positive and unique experience, but most importantly facilitate the best possible health outcomes.
I am a psychiatrist who has been in active practice for many years. I very much enjoy seeing patients and work collaboratively with them to address many issues that come up in intimate relationships, with family, in one’s work situation or in dealing with life’s blows and uncertainties. You may suffer from anxiety, depression, self- esteem issues, internal conflicts, guilt or existential questioning among the varied sources of distress that would bring you into psychotherapy and perhaps sometimes create a need for adjunctive medication.
But I regard each person as an individual with his/her own narrative. Part of our work together is to create and understand this narrative and how it came about. Sometimes the past can greatly affect the present without our being aware of its power. But knowing these influences helps one create a new narrative and way of going forward. I listen closely and am interested in your experience, whatever it is. We work together to understand it.
I am dual board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. I see clients from age 12 and up. People come to treatment for all sorts of reasons — anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulty functioning at work or school, family conflict, challenges in relationships, low self-esteem, or simply a desire to learn more about themselves. As a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with expertise in both medication management and psychotherapy, I can help patients develop a treatment plan that meets their needs. My style is guided by warmth and flexibility, with the goals of helping patients build insight and reduce symptoms.
I create individualized treatment plans, assessing patients' goals, unique life experiences, and biological risk factors. While medication is useful in some cases, I am dedicated to helping my patients achieve lasting change through therapy as well.
