Frederick S. Starr, MD, FAACAP, is a computational neuroscientist who has been active in the fields of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) and neurofeedback since 1990. He sees patients at Myneurva Brain Centers in Hackensack, New Jersey. 

Dr. Starr formally began integrating neurofeedback into clinical practice in 2003 and went on to pioneer large-scale Remote Neurofeedback in 2006, expanding access to innovative brain-based therapies well before telehealth became mainstream. As the founder of Myneurva Holdings, DE, he is also the inventor of a novel system and method for collecting and analyzing EEG data, for which he was awarded a U.S. Patent in 2020.

His professional mission is deeply personal. His eldest daughter, Anna, suffered from medication-resistant epilepsy, and her condition inspired his lifelong commitment to advancing brain imaging and neurofeedback technologies for individuals with complex neurological and psychiatric disorders. After Anna’s tragic passing from a fatal seizure in 2008, he embarked on a profound personal journey that took him from northern Maine to Hawaii, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.
