During my residency, I cultivated a deep understanding of psychiatric nuances and treatment modalities. I am proud to mention that I have received training in cultural sensitivity, enhancing my ability to provide inclusive and personalized care to individuals from various backgrounds. Additionally, I am trained in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), further expanding my repertoire of therapeutic interventions. Murali Rao, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist at Mindful TMS Neurocare Centers, providing high-quality mental health care to people in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Crystal Lake, Hinsdale, and Wheaton, Illinois.

Dr. Rao studied at Mysore Medical College and Research Institute in Karnataka, India, earning degrees in medicine and surgery. After graduation, he moved to the United States and completed a psychiatry residency at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. 

Before joining Mindful TMS Neurocare Centers, Dr. Rao received formal training in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) at two of the top TMS centers in the world –– the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Dr. Rao diagnoses and treats various psychiatric issues, but he has a special interest in behavioral neurosciences, geriatric psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, and treatment-resistant depressive mood disorders.

Erika Olson, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist and the associate medical director at Mindful TMS Neurocare Centers, where people with mental, neurological, and behavioral issues receive outstanding care at offices in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Crystal Lake, Hinsdale, and Wheaton, Illinois.

Dr. Olson studied at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, earning her Doctor of Medicine. Then, she completed a psychiatric residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.

Dr. Olson is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She diagnoses and treats various psychiatric conditions, including eating disorders, substance use disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I have worked in mental health for over 20 years. I am board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I have an extensive history of providing mental health services in all levels of care, including inpatient treatment, residential care, intensive outpatient services, community-based treatment, forensic cases and private practice. I find that psychotherapy and psychotropic medication management can be combined to provide effective support, relief and recovery. I have experience treating attention deficit disorders, autism, anxiety, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, school phobia, and specializes in the treatment of PTSD and eating disorders. I believe in a holistic approach that combines appropriate therapeutic modalities treating individuals, families, and groups; and, where indicated, effective medication strategies.

I am Doris, a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing degree at Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. I have worked in the mental health field for the past 13 years in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings. I am committed to providing holistic and culturally competent individualized care that embodies the client's developmental and bio-psycho-social histories in my treatment approach. I have experience working with individuals ages 5 to 65 and older adults struggling with depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism and ADHD, eating disorders, trauma, behavior problems, and other co-occurring mental disorders.
