Sharon Krieger has been a pioneer in providing quality traditional and alternative Mental Health Care to the residents of the Tampa Bay Area for 30 years . She has provided Psychopharmacology, Individual and Family Therapy and Alternative Therapies to hundreds of individuals and families of all ages. Sharon is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing . She then attended the South Florida where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Nursing in 1987. She added Family Practice to her career in 1992 at the University of South Florida She also has completed the coursework for an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology. Sharon is the founder and President of Building New Horizons, Inc. and Creating Better Brains, DBA. Her intention is to help all who she comes in contact with to “build new horizons” thru “creating better brains”.
I attended St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse NY and graduated in 1972 as a Registered Nurse. I worked as an RN at a Psychiatric Hospital in Syracuse NY. In 1974 I moved to Long Island NY and worked at Glen Cove Hospital as an RN in an Outpatient Drug Abuse Treatment Center.. I was co-author of a paper titled “The Varied Role of Nurses in an Outpatient Drug Treatment Program."
I graduated from Long Island University with a BS in Nursing in 1978. I taught Psychiatric Nursing at my alma mater St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse NY from 1979 until 1985. I graduated from the University of South Florida in 1993 with an MSN. I have worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Community Mental Health, private practice, and for the last 20 years have worked for the Veterans Administration as an ARNP seeing veterans at the New Port Richey outpatient clinic.
Patrick Hickey is a dual certified family psychiatric mental health and family nurse practitioner. He began his health career enlisting as United States Naval hospital corpsman at 18. Patrick pursued a bachelors and Masters degree in nursing at Molloy College in Rockville Centre NY and moved to the Tampa Bay Where he completed a masters in family practice nursing as well as an Executive MBA with University of South Tampa Business school. He has extensive community health experience, palliative care, acute care, medical surgical, intensive care and emergency room experience working inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units, including detox units, acute crisis units, intensive outpatient programs and a military PTSD program. Areas of clinical focus include: Depression, Anxiety, panic disorder OCD, Tourette’s, Bipolar disorder, substance abuse and alcoholism, autism, schizophrenia, LGBTQ, PTSD- military, physical, emotional and sexual trauma, geriatric care, dementia care.

Dr. Ron Lopez is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as certified as a Diplomat in the sub-specialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He completed his training in adult and child Psychiatry at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami and has been in private practice in the Pinellas County area for more than 24 years. Dr Lopez played a vital role in the Public Mental Health System of our community by heading the Child and adolescent “Crisis” unit at PEMHS, receiving and treating facility of Children suffering from a mental or substance abuse crisis.
