Anita La Cour has worked as a Licensed Psychologist for more than 36 years, with much of her work with Native American tribes in New Mexico, Arizona, and Alaska. She began her clinical career at the Children’s Psychiatric Hospital in Albuquerque, and has provided therapy to children, youth and adults in residential and outpatient settings. Much of her work has included treatment of trauma, and she includes sandplay therapy and EMDR when needed in her practice. She has a particular interest in work with underserved communities and girls’ and women’s issues, but has worked with boys and girls, men and women from many different cultures. She is a Registered Sandplay Practitioner and is particularly interested in those who would like to include this modality in their therapeutic work. Some may remember Anita under her previous names of Schacht, Didrickson & Treloar.
