With a lifelong dedication to people, Nia is a licensed mental health professional and partners with her clients through transparency and care. Nia’s sessions are guided by the quote “I am one of you”, meaning that she lives with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD and PTSD and understands the power of mental healthcare from both sides of the clinical couch. Nia is a native Baltimorean, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Morgan State University in 2010, and returned to her Alma Mater to receive her Masters of Social Work.
Sydney is a Licensed Master Social Worker and earned her Master’s in Social Work from Marywood University. She is passionate about providing children, adolescents, and young adults with the skills and support necessary to thrive in their environment. She has experience working with various individuals, including trauma survivors, adults with mental health diagnoses, and youth with autism, ADHD, and other behavioral concerns. Her approach incorporates client-centered and person-in-environment perspectives, valuing the diversity of clients’ experiences and self-determination.
Tayler received her degree in counseling psychology from Loyola University, Maryland. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Tayler has experience treating clients with depression, eating disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and interpersonal/relationship issues.
Previously, she worked with clients who experienced sexual assault to provide them with trauma-informed care. She uses a client-centered approach to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship and also draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness to help clients identify positive coping skills. Tayler is committed to helping clients as they navigate their journey toward healing and recovery.
Sophie has experience working with adults and youth experiencing a range of presenting problems such as anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, trauma and PTSD, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. She is passionate about helping individuals gain insight into themselves, validate their own emotions and needs, and strive to be the best version of themselves. Sophie utilizes CBT, emotion-focused approaches, trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness and acceptance-based practices, and motivational techniques. She values building a safe, nonjudgmental, and open therapeutic relationship and finds it particularly important to learn about relevant aspects of clients’ identities and backgrounds that may inform their treatment. Sophie also has training in Gottman Method couples therapy and has experience helping couples to resolve conflict, communicate openly, and deepen their connection.
Heather is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who graduated from Shippensburg University with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and attended Johns Hopkins University for additional speciality educational credits. Heather began her work in Mental Health working in a Child/Adolescent In-Patient Psychiatric Unit which specialized in Family Therapy. She interned with a Private Practice and was hired upon graduation. She treated individuals, couples, family and ran several groups. Upon moving to Maryland, she began work in several Middle and High Schools, seeing students referred by the Student Assistance Team at each school. Heather uses an Eclectic Approach to assist clients deal with their unique issues, strengths, and circumstances based on the goals each strives to achieve, with an emphasis on Client-Centered, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, Positive approaches.
Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She has been part of Balance Point Wellness, as an intern, for over a year. Michelle started her journey as a Healthcare Leadership Coach, receiving her Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University certification.
She looks forward to integrating her counseling and coaching skills to work with clients on finding balance and self-acceptance while removing barriers.
Connor is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who earned her Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in the clinic and farm setting. Connor’s clinical experience includes helping clients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ASD, trauma, and more.
Connor provides equine-facilitated therapy at our farm location and in-clinic and telehealth services. She describes her approach to counseling as integrative and holistic, utilizing a person-centered approach, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). In addition, she believes in building a collaborative and supportive relationship with her clients to help them feel empowered in their own therapeutic journey.
Annmarie is passionate about empowering her clients to manage change – both the changes they desire and the unexpected changes that life throws at them. Using cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness approaches, she guides her clients in developing their ability to heal, foster growth, and embrace the fullest expressions of their authentic selves. Annmarie enjoyed a 2-decades-long career as a college professor and brings her passion and energy for helping others to this new chapter in her life. Annmarie provides adventure and eco therapies at the Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center as well as telehealth and in-office services at the Hunt Valley location. She is a general EMDR practitioner and certified anxiety treatment professional.
