As a native of the Mahoning Valley, it has always been my goal to become educated then return to help rebuild, sustain, and progress my community. I have been a counselor for over 25 years, with an Ohio License in Independent Chemical Dependency. I have worked with Clients from various facets of life and the common denominator has been their need to be understood, respected, and cared for. I have held steadfast to the philosophy of treating people better than I want to be treated. This simple rule has granted me the privilege and honor of standing with people at their lowest moments to see them rise to their highest dreams.
How did a girl with a public-school education, from the Southside of Youngstown make it “out”? By vowing to always be willing to pull others ‘out’ with me as well. My compassion and unfailing dedication for the people that I work for (THE CLIENT) has made this much more than a job or career. It is my life’s work, my calling.
Having been granted the opportunity to become the owner of FocusCare means that I have a hand in the trajectory of not only the Client’s lives, but the agency and the community. To be a pioneer in Client Centered services has been my ‘wildest dream’ that I have the pleasure of now living.
