After graduating in 2008 from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey, with a  Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Paternina enrolled in Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. In 2014, she graduated in the top 5% of her class and completed her residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a Level II trauma center. 

During her time as a resident, Dr. Paternina received comprehensive training in reconstructive surgery of complex foot and ankle deformities, including foot and ankle joint replacement, flatfoot, trauma, limb salvage, and advanced training techniques in treating difficult wounds. Her surgical abilities were so impressive that she earned the title of chief resident during her final year.

In addition to her surgical abilities, Dr. Paternina’s areas of expertise include pediatrics, sports medicine, arthroscopy, cartilage transplantation, plastic surgery, dermatology, and general foot care. She is passionate about education and has devoted her time to lectures and medical studies, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Kyle Yi is a fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon who specializes in trauma and reconstructive surgery.  He is proud to serve patients at Foot & Ankle Premier Specialists, with locations in Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, Ridgefield & Bloomfield, NJ. 

He graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and continued his education at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, where he obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). 

Dr. Yi then began his surgical training at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.  He was selected to serve as Chief Resident during his final year and graduated with credentials from the Council of Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) to perform reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.  In addition to surgery, he also received training in sports medicine, arthroscopy, plastic surgery, wound care and general foot care.

To further his surgical training, he spent an additional year completing a fellowship, accredited by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), in trauma and reconstructive surgery at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.  Dr. Yi received extensive training with cutting edge technology including total ankle replacements and use of custom 3D implants in foot and ankle surgery.  

Throughout his training, Dr Yi has authored and co-authored articles and research publications focusing on ankle fractures, ankle instability, and diabetic neuropathy, with his most recent regarding a total calcaneus replacement with a custom 3D printed metallic implant.  

When he is not serving patients, Dr. Yi enjoys cooking, traveling, golfing, watching TV/movies and spending time with his friends and family.  

Jonathan Shalot, BS, DPM, AACFAS, is a skilled foot and ankle surgeon at Foot & Ankle Premier Specialists, with locations in Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, Ridgefield, & Bloomfield, NJ. 

Dr. Shalot graduated from Long Island's distinguished Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Minor in Chemistry. He obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. 

During his time in podiatry school, Dr. Shalot served as president of the Student Chapter of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and as president of the NYCPM Student Organization. He completed a three-year Foot and Ankle Surgery residency program at the prestigious Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. He was elected Chief Resident during his last year. Dr. Shalot graduated with honors from the program in May 2023, specializing in forefoot surgery, rearfoot surgery, trauma, and ankle surgery.

During his time at NYCPM and Montefiore, Dr. Shalot has authored and co-authored articles and research publications, most focusing on his interest in the Role of anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (AITFL) repairs in Chronic Ankle Instability.   

Dr. Shalot is certified in CPR and also served as a lifeguard. His interests include sports medicine, biomechanics of the foot and ankle, treating athletes, and assessing patients for orthotic therapy. He enjoys playing the guitar, working out, and swimming in his spare time. 

Robert Bacigalupi, MD, FAAD, is proud to be the Director of MOHS Surgery at All Island Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, serving Glen Cove and Garden City, New York.

He is board-certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery, and he specializes in general dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer patients, and facial reconstruction. He also practices cosmetic surgery, including laser therapy and injectable neurotoxins and fillers.

Dr. Bacigalupi is a clinical instructor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai in New York City, where he previously completed his procedural dermatology fellowship. Gary Nackman, MD, FACS, is a board-certified vascular surgeon with more than 25 years of experience helping women and men with venous disease and cosmetic concerns achieve healthy veins and skin. He founded the NJ Vein Care and Aesthetics Center in Clifton, New Jersey, to provide high-quality, one-on-one, patient-centered care in a welcoming, supportive environment. Dr. Nackman graduated summa cum laude from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and earned his Medical Doctorate from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, in 1988.  He completed his general surgery training at Columbia University, St. Luke' s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City in 1994. He then went on to participate in a fellowship in vascular surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, in 1996.  

Formerly an associate professor of surgery at the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Nackman trained and led the next generation of vascular surgeons and physicians. Currently, he's an attending surgeon at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.

Dr. Nackman has received national recognition for his NIH-funded, breakthrough scientific research. He's made numerous presentations at national and international conferences, authored textbook chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and co-authored a landmark scientific paper on how varicose veins degenerate.

Marc E. T. Cristina Sardinha, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified surgeon on the team at Progressive Surgical Care, an exceptional surgery practice with locations in Manhasset Hills in New Hyde Park and the Lindenwood area in Howard Beach, New York. She specializes in general surgery and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Sardinha was born, raised, educated, and trained in Brazil. She earned her medical degree from Bahian School of Medicine and Public Health and completed residencies in general and trauma surgery at the University of Sao Paulo, including working under the leadership of internationally renowned colorectal surgeon Dr. Angelita Habr-Gama.

Jane Yang, MD, is a skilled colon and rectal surgeon at Progressive Surgical Care in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, New York. She has a decade of experience and is highly trained in her field.

Dr. Yang is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. She completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University. Dr. Yang then obtained her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, and completed a residency in surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Uniondale, New York. Steven Schulberg, DO, is a board-certified surgeon who is part of the team at Progressive Surgical Care which has New York offices in Forest Hills, New Hyde Park, Long Island, and Howard Beach, Queens. He specializes in minimally invasive general and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Schulberg was born and raised in New York. He attended Binghamton University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He then attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he earned his medical degree in 2016.

He went on to complete his general surgery residency at NYU Langone Health – Brooklyn, where he graduated as chief resident. Following residency, Dr. Schulberg completed a fellowship in minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery at the University of Texas Houston, McGovern Medical School, one of the highest volume robotic colorectal surgery programs in the nation. While in Houston, he received advanced training and additional certification in minimally invasive robotic surgical techniques.

Dr. Schulberg is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and has presented at both national and international surgical conferences. He is a member of SAGES, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons. Dr. Schulberg’s practice focuses on using minimally invasive techniques, such as the DaVinci Robot and laparoscopy, to care for patients and improve postoperative outcomes. He greatly values the personal relationships he develops with patients during their care.

Dr. Reza Shah, DO, FACS, FACOS, FAPWCA, CMET obtained his Medical Degree from Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ, and went on to complete his General Surgery Residency training at Peninsula Hospital and St. Barnabas Hospital in New York. He then completed Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at UMDNJ/Kennedy Memorial Hospital in New Jersey and is Board-Certified in General Surgery.
