A Duke University Medical School graduate, Dr. Mehran completed his surgery residency in New Jersey, followed by a Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) and Bariatric fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida. He served as the UCLA Bariatric Surgery Program Chief for several years, prior to establishing his own surgical program in the Thousand Oaks area.
The name University Bariatrics reflects his goal of combining the integrity and values of his past academic career, with a new private practice that is focused on serving the community around him. Dr. Mehran has contributed to over 160 publications and presentations and has mentored numerous fellows, residents, and medical students.
He is a member of multiple surgical societies and has served as a consultant for various regulatory agencies, surgical journals, the media, and the medical industry. In recognition of his dedication and efforts, his peers have repeatedly elected him to the Southern California Super Doctors list. He currently serves as the elected Chair of Surgery at Los Robles Medical Center.
