After his schooling, Dr. Mittle did his medical residency and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at North Shore University Hospital-Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Dhama attended the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education program at City University of New York in New York City. He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Moscow Medical Stomatological Institute in Russia and remained in his nation of birth to complete his first internship.
