Dr. Debra Westervelt is originally from Hemet, a small town in Southern California. In her early years of college, she found a passion in healthcare where she felt she could best impact her community and graduated with a degree in biology from La Sierra University at the top of her class. She then earned a doctorate degree at the acclaimed University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Westervelt loves every aspect of dentistry and worked as a general dentist in the Napa area for several years. She enjoyed working closely with many specialists and collaborating in changing people’s lives. She was heavily involved in study clubs and advanced continuing education and became inspired by the specialists she had the opportunity to work with.

Dr. Michael Nguyen is the youngest of four brothers who grew up in San Jose. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis and completed his dental degree at Midwestern University in Arizona.

Dr. Mike's passion for dentistry ignited on a dental expedition trip to Liberia, Costa Rica, where he provided free dental services, supplies, and knowledge in underprivileged and impoverished areas. Two health expeditions later, Dr. Mike found himself at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, where he completed his masters in biomedical science and his doctorate in dental medicine. He loves dentistry because it afforded him the ability to empower and lift people up with his knowledge and clinical skills. He enjoys the teaching and teamwork aspects of dentistry, where he can help make his work environment and experience creative, collaborative, and fun. He finds joy in education, relationships, and community. He believes that is what dentistry is all about, and that's why he loves it.

In his spare time, Dr. Mike enjoys playing basketball, hiking, and camping in national parks. He is a huge Bay Area sports fan. He listens to podcasts and reads books by life performance coaches like Tony Robbins and Tim Ferris. He is known as “Uncle Michael” to two beautiful boys, Dat and Hunter, and one mischievous dog named Basil.

Thi Hoang, DDS, is an exceptional dentist with extensive experience specializing in cosmetic, family, implant, and general dentistry. She serves her patients and the community at Mowry Dental in Fremont, California. 

Dr. Hoang graduated from the University of the Pacific’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California in 2007. Post-graduation, she was selected by the faculty at UOP to continue her training through the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program.

Oz Simel, DDS, MD, is a dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He is dedicated to providing patients in San Jose, California, and the surrounding areas with comprehensive dental care.

After graduating from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with his undergraduate degree, Dr. Simel earned his dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Azzarelli received her dental degree from the Medical University of Silesia in Poland in 1994. After practicing in the Lake Shore Area of Chicago and doing research with Northwestern Medical School in the area of Dental Vaccinations. He returned to San Jose, California to start his private practice in the neighborhood of his youth in 1984. Dr. Syn is an expert in the field of dental computer technology and has lectured and consulted in this field since 1983. He enjoys photography, videography, flyfishing, and computer science.

After graduating from Emerson High School in New Jersey, Dr. Gray received her B.S. degree in Biology from Fairleigh Dickensen University in New Jersey. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University in Chicago in 1982. She is a published researcher and worked at the American Dental Association research facility in Chicago. Dr Gray has attended years of continuing education in the area of Orthodontics and has had extensive training in General Practice orthodontics. While Kevin found his work in the pharmaceutical industry rewarding, he felt unsatisfied with his career and sought an education that would best complement his enthusiasm for helping others with his understanding of the sciences. With this intention, he received his MBA from California State University East Bay and DDS from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. Currently, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association as a member of the Board of Component Relations and has served as the former President of the Napa/Solano Dental Society.

When away from the office, Kevin enjoys listening to music, snowboarding and honing his martial arts as a 4th degree Kajukenbo black belt with over 30 years of experience! Dr. Omid Elie was born and raised in Foster City and has returned to practice dentistry. He graduated from UCLA in 2014 with a Bachelors in molecular, cell, and developmental biology and then attended UCSF dental school for his Doctorate of dental surgery. When not at work, you can find Dr. Elie working on his physical fitness with a run or at the gym. In his downtime, he'll be cheering on the Warriors and 49ers or looking for a good stand-up comic to watch.

Dr. Elie's main focus is preventative dentistry and oral hygiene education. He believes going to the dentist should be a comfortable, fun experience, and treatment planning should be a conversation with the main focus being optimal oral health for the long run.
