Dentist Hsu is good and has many practice experiences, very kindly to elderly patients , lots of my friends are his patients But one of the receptionist is observed, Manipulate, I try to get denture from dentist John Hsu but sheShow more keeps telling me to go with dentist Patel which I don’t know him at all. I said no then she put me in an appointment 3 1/2 months after the day I called (October1, 2022) I told her that I can come anytime if there is a cancellation but she never called me back so by end of November. I called again asking her within 2 months no one called for cancellation? She then put me in December 14 at 5:45 last patient That receptionist definitely has some attitude with setting up appointments I was very unhappy with her way of treating patients
Dr. Hsu was the consummate professional as usual; caring about my comfort while taking the time to explain what he’s doing and having the skill and patience to do a great job! His assistant today, whom I hadn’t met in the past, evShow moreen commented; as a long time professional in the dental field herself, just how great a job Dr. Hsu did on my filling! I haven’t been a patient of Dr. Hsu’s for almost 18 years for nothing. In fact, I drove 235 miles round trip from the Richmond suburbs today for my appointment, and have no planof finding a new doctor locally. This is despite the fact that I left Annandale, Va for Richmond over five years ago!
John S.K. Hsu, DDS, is a compassionate, caring, and highly skilled dentist serving patients in and around Fairfax, Virginia. In his role at John S.K. Hsu D.D.S. and Virginia J. Chin D.D.S., P.C., Dr. Hsu assists men, women, and children in reaching and maintaining the highest possible standards of dental health.
Born in Hong Kong, Dr. Hsu migrated to Toronto, Canada in 1981. While there, he attended York University, where he earned his Bachelor in Science degree, majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Biology.
Dr. Hsu attended dental school at the Medical College of Virginia, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1993. He further expanded his skills and knowledge with a residency in advanced education in general dentistry through the Lutheran Medical Center, located in Brooklyn, New York.
A passionate believer in continuing education and training, Dr. Hsu pursued extensive learning opportunities through the United States Dental Institute for Orthodontics. He's also a certified InvisalignⓇ dentist and is fully trained in the Invisalign system.
Dr. Hsu is married to Dr. Virginia Chin, another member of the John S.K. Hsu D.D.S. and Virginia J. Chin D.D.S., P.C. family. The pair has been in practice together since 1997 and is honored to work together to help other families achieve healthy teeth and gums.
When they are not in the office helping patients, you can find Dr. Hsu and Dr. Chin serving in their church or volunteering in their community. They donate their time and expertise by conducting dental screenings and educational events at Fairfax area preschools. That same ideal of service is what led Dr. Hsu to travel to Haiti, providing dental services to families in need.
In his spare time, Dr. Hsu enjoys photography, charcoal and ink sketching, watercolor painting, and taxidermy. He also loves spending time outdoors playing ping pong, tennis, biking, hiking, and swimming.

Dr. Hsu is one of the best dentists/doctors I have met. He is very honest. He truly cares for his patients. That's why I have seen him for over 10 years. The only problem is one of the front desk receptionists is very rude. She treats people "nicely" only when Dr. Hsu or Dr. Chin is at the front desk. I wish she can find a job somewhere else that can make her happy. The other lady at the front desk (check-out) is really nice.
