Whittni earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling in 2019 from Spring Arbor University. She is currently licensed through the State of Michigan as a Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition, she holds several professional credentials, including National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and maintains a Development Plan for Clinical Supervisor through the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
Whittni has over six years of experience in the field of addictions and currently serves as a therapist at Recovery Pathways, LLC. She works with adults, adolescents, and families, providing both substance use and mental health counseling. Her professional experience includes work with Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and incarcerated populations. She also facilitates group therapy focused on addiction, trauma, co-occurring disorders, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
As her career has progressed, Whittni has grown into several leadership roles within her organization. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Human Resource Officer, and Clinical Supervisor. While she maintains a smaller clinical caseload, her primary focus is on administration, program development, staff support, and ensuring quality care across services.
Whittni’s therapeutic philosophy is eclectic, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, and solution-focused approaches. She believes that by addressing core beliefs, irrational thoughts, and maladaptive behaviors, individuals can experience meaningful change and develop a renewed sense of hope and healing.
William R. Morrone, DO, FACOFP, MS, MPH currently works as the Chief Medical Examiner in Bay County, Medical Director at Recovery Pathways, LLC., and as an addictionologist in the criminal justice system through local district and circuit courts.
Dr. Morrone is a graduate of Michigan State University (MSUCOM) completing an internship in internal medicine and residency in family medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, certified by National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and is past president of American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine. He also is a part of the Saginaw Valley State University Substance Use Disorder Project Echo and currently lectures nationally on this topic. He has worked in addiction medicine as a treating physician with twenty years of experience in focus areas of criminal justice, forensic medicine and public advocacy.
He also holds Master’s of Science degree in pharmaceutical science and toxicology and a Master’s of Public Health.
Dr. Kristianna Matthewis, MD is a physician committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care. She takes a collaborative approach to medicine, working closely with patients to understand their needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Dr. Matthewis emphasizes preventive care, patient education, and evidence-based practices to promote long-term health and wellness.
Dr. Farago is a family medicine trained, board certified physician. His experience includes general family medicine as well as addiction and non-interventional pain medicine. He has expertise using both buprenorphine and methadone for the treatment of chronic opioid dependency. He is licensed in the both the USA as well as Canada to practice medicine. His DEA exemption allows him to prescribe Suboxone in the US for substance abuse. He is a licensed MRO for urine drug screening and is currently consulted for opioid management.
Doctor Joe Peyton has been a passionate member of the Toledo medical community for nearly three decades, serving on several state and national medical boards and remaining active in medical administration, medical education and law enforcement. After receiving his doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Ohio University, and completing a residency in Family Practice at Mercy Hospital, Dr. Peyton went immediately into private practice in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. In addition to his passion for Family Practice, Dr. Peyton went on to add the special qualification in geriatric medicine, helping develop specialized care for the elderly and geriatric population that had become his preferred focus. Dr. Peyton opened his own practice in Maumee in 2000 to better serve his Toledo area patients.
