Eva was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, and moved to the Rio Grande Valley with her family at age 10. She graduated cum laude from St. Edwards University in Austin with a Bachelor’s in Biology in 2017. Eva received several academic scholarships throughout her academic career and maintained a position on the Dean’s List. After college, she spent her first postgraduate year working in the Emergency department and volunteering at rural clinics in Mexico and Peru. Eva then attained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. She is bilingual and motivated to help the Corpus Christi community in their skin needs. Eva’s interest in helping the community and passion for overall skin care is what drove her to pursue a field in dermatology; her interest was further motivated during her clinical rotations. Prior to her arrival at Heights Dermatology, Eva specialized in Internal Medicine in Mcallen, Texas. She is passionate about providing evidence-based care and enjoys staying up to date with new techniques and products out in the market. She prioritizes the importance of patient education and preventative medicine.
Eva received personal training in dermatology from Dr. Alpesh Desai, DO, and Dr. Tejas Desai, DO. She practices in the areas of general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Eva is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In her free time, Eva enjoys exercising, spending time with her loved ones, and traveling.

Elizabeth Finsness, or “Liza”, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in Dallas, TX.
She graduated from University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She competed on UGA’s NCAA Equestrian team where she was named All-American four years, obtaining a National Championship and two SEC Championship titles. She earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky. Liza began her dermatology career in south Florida where she practiced general and surgical dermatology for 2 years before moving to Texas. She has since earned the title of Diplomate Fellow as a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Being a native Floridian, Liza recognizes the importance of skin care and prevention of sun-related ailments. She is passionate about patient education and preventative medicine. At aCELLerated Interventional Orthopedics, pain management specialist, Brian Rich, MD, provides comprehensive spine and pain management services to adults at two conveniently located offices in Decatur and Wichita Falls, TX. Dr. Rich brings more than 14 years of experience as an endurance athlete and competitive cyclist to the practice. This interest and passion carry over to his efforts in interventional pain and orthopedics.
Upon earning his medical degree, Dr. Rich completed a family practice residency with a focus on sports medicine. During his time as a resident, Dr. Rich treated various levels of athletes, including hockey players and other athletes at two Division I colleges in Louisiana.
Afterward, Dr. Rich completed a sports medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma Tulsa, where he still serves as a clinical assistant instructor today.
It was during his fellowship that Dr. Rich decided to focus on interventional pain management. He uses his previous sports medicine experience to help people find relief. Dr. Rich’s primary goal is to help each individual achieve the highest level of function possible, just as he did when treating athletes.
He’s an active member of all major interventional pain societies, as well as neuromodulation societies. In addition, Dr. Rich is skilled in fluoroscopic-guided procedures and musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided procedures.
Outside of meeting with patients, Dr. Rich regularly attends national conferences and journal club conferences with his peers. He welcomes anyone seeking comprehensive pain relief to aCELLerated Interventional Orthopedics today.
A physician with over 10 years of experience in clinical medicine, Dr. Cauthen has also studied healthcare policy and management at Berkley and worked in research at the University of California, San Francisco and in Washington DC. He has served as a Lt. Commander in the US Public Health Service Corps and worked with the Indian Health Service in Alaska serving the Inuit population. Dr. Cauthen worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where he was responsible for disease surveillance and outbreak investigations at the national and state level. He was stationed for two years in Puerto Rico, and worked closely with the Puerto Rico Secretary of Health on numerous health policy issues. As State Epidemiologist for Oklahoma, Dr. Cauthen contributed to the development of bioterrorism response within the state and helped develop partnerships for an early warning disease surveillance system in the state. He now serves as medical director and continues his research.
