From Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Weckesser moved to the west coast of Florida in 1949. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He then completed his internship and residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and his cardiology fellowship at the University of Maryland in College Park.
Dr. Weckesser spent 18 years in the private practice of cardiology in Baltimore, where he served as the director of the Coronary Care Unit at Mercy Hospital. He also spent two years in the Armed Forces as a United States Army Major, including one year in Vietnam.
He holds several affiliations, including with the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, the Florida Medical Association, and the Sarasota County Medical Society.

Mostaan Mehrdad, MD, is a double board-certified interventional cardiologist in practice for over 30 years. He serves patients at The Heart Institute of Venice in Venice, Sarasota, Bradenton, and Ellenton, Florida.
He graduated medical school from the University of Maryland in 1978. Since 1984 he has been an Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University, where he did his Cardiology training. Dr. Mostaan has taught students at Georgetown University, Howard University, and DC General Hospital cardiac procedures.
Dr. Mostaan has been in private practice for the last 35 years working in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC.
Dr. Mostaan received his FL licensure and began practicing medicine in the state of Florida two years ago. He is passionate about patient care and has a deep dedication to the treatment of all his patients.
