Dr. Rao completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. He then furthered his training with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, focusing on echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular imaging.

In 1971, he moved to the United States to finish his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship.
Dr. Rao is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and nuclear cardiology. After years of serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area at eight local hospitals, Dr. Rao established himself as an integral part of Luminis Health Doctors Community Hospital.

Anita Banerjee, MD, FACC, is an experienced cardiology specialist at Premier Cardiac and Vascular in Annandale and Fredericksburg, Virginia.
