Born and raised in Vietnam, I came to the US at the age of 19. I obtained Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with the highest honor Summa Cum Laude at Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA in 1998. Then I graduated from Medical College of Georgia, GA, USA with a Medical Doctor degree in 2002. I completed residency in Internal Medicine at Atlanta Medical Center, Atlanta, GA in 2005. I worked as a hospitalist and later primary care staff physician at Emory Healthcare System until 2006, then became a primary care staff physician for the Atlanta VA Medical Center until 8/2021. I also have been working part time in a private primary care office in Norcorss, GA. Over the years, I have befriended, worked and treated patients from different walks of life. Since graduating from medical school, Dr. Vargas has completed an internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark.
