Melissa holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). She tailors each client’s experience with empathy and respect, helping to set clear, personalized goals that foster resilience, self-compassion, and meaningful progress.
Melissa enjoys working with teens and adults navigating ADHD and trauma, as well as those who are ready to explore their authentic selves and begin a journey of healing and personal growth. She has experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, mood and personality disorders, and OCD. Her background also includes work in a crisis residential treatment program, where she provided care to individuals experiencing homelessness or reentering the community after incarceration.
For the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and groups as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). My practice is built on a deep understanding of neuroscience, utilizing proven techniques such as CBT, DBT, and CPT. Beyond traditional talk therapy, I offer a holistic path to healing by integrating practices likeconscious connected circular breathing, Hatha yoga, and pranayama to foster a stronger mind-body connection. Recognizing the profound impact of physical health on mental well-being, I also weave in insights on nutrition and the gut-brain connection to craft a personalized plan that truly addresses your unique needs.
