Dr. Bernadette Nazario-Lopez is the founder and medical director of the Migraine and Headache Center of Florida. She is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in Headache Medicine by the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties.
Dr. Nazario-Lopez served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, where she initiated and assisted in the development of the Headache Medicine Clinic. Prior to starting her own practice, Dr. Nazario-Lopez was the Medical Director of the Headache Program at a healthcare institution in Florida.
Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Nazario-Lopez received a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, graduating cum laude. She then went to complete 2 post-graduate clinical pharmacy training programs at the San Juan VA Medical Center. She decided to continue with her passion with direct patient care, studying medicine at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she graduated magna cum laude. Subsequently, she completed her Neurology residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.
Dr. Nazario-Lopez expertise include evaluating and treating different types of headaches that include, but not limited to migraine, cluster headache, tension type headache, paroxysmal hemicrania, new daily persistent headache, pseudotumor cerebri, headache in pregnancy, occipital neuralgia, post-Covid headache, among others. She also evaluates and treats facial pain, including trigeminal neuralgia.
She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Headache Society.
