Dr. Claunch is a Neuropsychiatrist. He completed training and board certification in both Neurology and Psychiatry leading to a unique, integrated approach. He also has a background in various forms of psychotherapy including Cognitive, Behavioral, and different Depth Psychology modalities. Through Practical Neuropsychiatry, Dr. Claunch works with clients to understand their complex medical and neurologic symptoms. Dr. Claunch provides patient care in select cases where separate treatment in the neurology clinic and the psychiatry office have not effectively addressed the patient’s problems.
At Practical Neuropsychiatry Inc, Dr. Claunch helps patients organize very complex and distressing symptoms into a coherent story. He guides them through the classical medical model when appropriate, and then helps with direct patient care (testing, prescribing, and counseling) when the problem is too complex for the standard medical model.
