Dr. Trevor D. Barton, DO is a board-certified neurologist with advanced fellowship training in vascular neurology. Dr. Barton earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University's Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his time there, he was selected for the prestigious Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OPP) Fellowship, where he gained additional clinical and academic training in osteopathic manipulative medicine and holistic patient care.
Following medical school, Dr. Barton completed his neurology residency at HCA HealthONE Swedish Medical Center. He went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the same institution, focusing on acute stroke care, stroke prevention, and advanced neuroimaging. With board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Barton is dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with stroke, epilepsy, migraines, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disorders.
Sussel Vega Pupo, APRN began her career in medicine as an LPN before going on to receive her BSN. As a RN she worked as a charge nurse in the neuro intensive care unit as well as a critical care nurse before receiving her MSN from Florida National University. Sussel takes pride in providing the highest level of care to all patients.
Dr. Pawar is double board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology with an interest in hyperacute management of stroke and establishing systems of care. He received his medical degree at B.J. Medical College in India before going on to Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to complete an Internal Medicine residency followed by neurology residencies at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Following completion of his residencies, Dr. Pawar completed Fellowships in Vascular Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania, Endovascular Neurosurgery and Interventional Radiology at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania, and Advanced Vascular Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is coming to us from Duke University Medical Center where he served as Stroke Medical Director. He is widely published. He has varied interests and has participated in multiple clinical trials.
Fawzi Abukhalil, MD, is a neurologist with a sub-specialty in neuro-ophthalmology. He treats patients at The Neurology Institute in Coral Springs and Sunrise, Florida. Dr. Abukhalil is well-liked by his patients and known for providing compassionate and thorough care. Dr. Abukhalil is fluent in English and Arabic.
Dr. Abukhalil attended medical school at MISR University for Science and Technology in Egypt. He completed his neurology residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in West Carson, California, before completing a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship and post-doctoral research at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Abukhalil has been a principal investigator in numerous clinical research trials, given many lectures on a wide range of topics in neurology, and published articles in several medical journals. He is widely published and offers expertise in neuro-ophthalmological disorders.

Dr. Giovanna Basilio is a bilingual (English/Spanish) clinician. She received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology with a forensic concentration at Nova Southeastern University in South Florida. She has broad clinical experience with minors, adults, and older adults across correctional, community, and healthcare sites. She has also contributed to the development of competency restoration programs in Broward and Palm Beach Counties and published a Springer book chapter on cultural considerations in sex trafficking.
Her research interests include potentially traumatic events across immigrant and non-immigrant populations, best practices for assessment and treatment, and severe mental illness in diverse settings. Dr. Basilio specializes in psychological evaluations and trauma-informed therapy.
