Dr. Felipe Videla is a fellowship trained and board certified urogynecologist and reconstructive pelvic surgeon. He is an alumni of the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He joined the Air Force in 1991 and did his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He then completed a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, finishing in 1998. After residency, he served as the chief of urogynecology and gynecologic services Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. While at Keesler AFB, he trained OB/GYN residents in pelvic floor surgery and gynecology.
After 11 years of active duty service, he separated from the military and joined Dr. Marshburn to form Valley Urogynecology Associates. Since coming to Phoenix, Dr. Videla has been a member of the clinical faculty for the OB/GYN residency training programs at Banner University Medical Center and the Creighton University School of Medicine at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Dr. Videla is fluent in Spanish and has given numerous lectures and courses to fellow physicians on advanced surgical techniques throughout the US and internationally.
Dr. Videla specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of female pelvic floor disorders including all forms of vaginal prolapse, vaginal fistulas, mesh complications. urinary tract infections as well as recurrent vaginal prolapse. He has over twenty years of experience and has performed thousands of vaginal surgeries. As part of an evaluation with Dr. Videla, each patient will receive a thorough medical history and physical examination along with a comprehensive management plan to include diet, exercise and supplement recommendations. Dr. Videla has a particular interest in the role of inflammation and the effects of the vaginal biome on pelvic floor pathology. Dr. Videla takes the time to ensure that all of his patients understand their diagnosis and management options.
Dr. Marshburn received his medical degree and master’s of public health at Tulane University School of Medicine in 1990. He completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tulane University and a fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at Greater Baltimore Medical Center/University of Maryland in 1998. He has been in private practice at Valley Urogynecology Associates since 1998. Dr. Marshburn is a member of the American Urogynecology Society. He is a frequent lecturer and teacher on topics relating to urinary incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction. He lives in Phoenix with his family and enjoys woodworking and gardening.
Board-certified urogynecologist Shazia Malik, MD, is an accomplished specialist serving patients at Valley Urogynecology Associates in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Malik is the only female surgeon in the area with double-board certification in gynecology and urogynecology, as well as fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
