Dr. Cheon’s surgical expertise ranges from minimally invasive surgery to abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy. Her research interests have included the treatment of abnormal pap smears, novel methods of contraception, and prevention of delivery complications.
Sarah is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, originally from Birmingham, AL. She obtained her first Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience/Psychology from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. During her time there, she underwent emergency medical technician training and continued to pursue her passion for healthcare. After graduating, she worked as a medical assistant at a private OB/GYN clinic in Washington, DC, where her interest in women’s healthcare blossomed. Sarah then earned her second Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Emory University, gaining valuable experience as a registered nurse in both fertility and psychiatric settings. Dr. Kakossian graduated Medical School with Honors and Distinction in 1991. She completed an exchange fellowship program at Columbia University, NY in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She graduated as Chief resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Lutheran Medical Center, NY.
