Melissa Taylor-Giorlando, MD, FACOG is a Connecticut native, having grown up in Easton and Trumbull. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University.
She graduated from the Yale School of Medicine in 2017. During medical school, she received an award recognizing excellence in Ob/Gyn and outstanding biomedical research. She completed her residency at the Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was drawn to Obstetrics and Gynecology due to its wide breadth and opportunity for a close personal connection with her patients. Dr. Giorlando offers a full range of Ob/Gyn services. She is accepting new patients.
Amy Serrano is a certified Physician Assistant who was born and raised in Trumbull. She attended Loyola University Maryland for her undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Amy attended Pace University in New York City and received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. After graduating, she began her career as a PA in OB/GYN at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She gained experience in working with both obstetric patients on Labor and Delivery, as well as caring for patients admitted to the GYN service and first assisting in the operating room for gynecologic procedures.
Amy moved back to Connecticut with her family and continues to practice her love of women’s health with the Avery Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology. She enjoys taking care of patients of all ages.
Caitlin Myers has been an OB/GYN PA since 2013 when she graduated from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She has 9 years of inpatient OB/GYN experience in the NYC hospital system. Caitlin is a lifelong Norwalk resident and is excited to be back practicing in the community she lives in. She offers a full range of OB/GYN services, with a special interest in high-risk pregnancies and adolescents.
In her free time, Caitlin enjoys spending time outdoors with her two children, traveling, and trying out the newest restaurants in town.
Adam Fechner, MD, is a double board-certified OB/GYN practicing at University Reproductive Associates in Hasbrouck Heights, Wayne, and Millburn, New Jersey. He specializes in endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, uterine fibroids, in vitro fertilization, polycystic ovary syndrome, and minimally invasive reproductive surgery.
Dr. Fechner earned his bachelor’s degree at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his Doctorate of Medicine at New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. He also completed an OB/GYN residency and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Fechner received training to operate with the da Vinci®️ Surgical Robot.
In addition to seeing patients at University Reproductive Associates, Dr. Fechner is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Hackensack University Center. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Sheila D. Pongnon, MD, is a seasoned board-certified OB/GYN specializing in women’s health and the unique needs of women at Westchester Women’s Medical Healthcare in Mount Vernon and Spring Valley, New York.
Dr. Pongnon completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry from New York University before receiving her medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. She finished her OB/GYN training at the New York Medical College Westchester Medical Center.
For over a decade, Dr. Pongnon has remained dedicated to providing a range of services and diagnostic testing and treatment methods, such as physicals and well-woman exams, ultrasounds, lifestyle changes, medications, and surgery. Her extensive surgical training allows Dr. Pongnon to perform top-quality procedures with the best possible results. She utilizes state-of-the-art tools, technology, and techniques, and offers advanced pelvic and minimally invasive surgery when needed, including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.
Dr. Pongnon is especially active in her field and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has admitting privileges at the New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital.
Dr. Pongnon provides general gynecological care, including contraception management, adolescent care, and menopausal treatment. She offers valuable solutions for various conditions, including endometriosis, uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, hypothyroidism, the flu, menstrual irregularities, osteoporosis, obesity, pelvic pain, sexually transmitted diseases, and infections.
The wellness, interests, and needs of each individual woman are always the utmost priority for Dr. Pongnon. She proudly brings a female perspective and understanding of women’s health care and is renowned for her impressive work ethic and compassionate bedside manner.
Dr. Rosenberg is a graduate of Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to launching his private practice, he was Associate Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital, where he also served as Director of the High-Risk Pregnancy Consultative Program and Director of the Center for Thrombophilia and Adverse Outcomes in Pregnancy. He was also Assistant Professor in the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead.
Dr. Sophia Lubin is a proud first-generation Haitian-American. She is a single mother of two outstanding young men, Tyler and Maxwell. Dr. Lubin is a board-certified OB/GYN and a native New Yorker. She holds a BS in Biology from The City College of NY and obtained her medical degree from NYIT-New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She did her OB/Gyn residency training at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, now Mount Sinai –Beth Israel. Dr. Sophia, as she likes to be called, is a committed humanitarian who has provided medical relief efforts in places like the Dominican Republic and Haiti. After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, she was interviewed by Anderson Cooper and received a NYC Congressional Award for her work as a first responder. She continues to visit Haiti on an annual basis where she provides free OB/GYN care.
As a practicing OB/GYN, Dr. Lubin provides a wide range of services including but not limited to prenatal care, pap smears, sexually transmitted disease screenings, breast cancer screenings, birth control and the management of menopause. Dr. Sophia also uses her expertise to manage disease processes like irregular periods, fibroids, ovarian cysts and all surgical interventions as needed. Her other passions include women’s rights as well as supporting women who have suffered from post-partum mental health issues and domestic abuse. In addition, she is an active practitioner in aesthetic medicine where she focuses on noninvasive cosmetic techniques and has a special interest in women’s sexual health. Dr. Lubin realized the relationship between a woman's sense of confidence was often in direct correlation with her commitment to her health. Dr. Lubin is passionate about broadening her scope of practice to help women lead happy, healthy and empowered lives. She recently launched a podcast called “Dr. Sophia Ob/Gyn, Embrace your Body Embrace yourself” as a way to discuss women’s health issues and personal topics that resonate with women from a safe space.
