Dr. Michael Hennessy is a native Texan through and through. He is privileged to be able to call himself a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, and he is proud to call Dallas, Texas his home.
Dr. Hennessy was born in Dallas to a family with three other siblings. He stayed in Dallas for his undergraduate education at Southern Methodist University. He majored in mathematics and graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian of his class. Dr. Hennessy then went on to Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. to obtain his medical degree. He graduated cum laude and then was drawn back to Texas when he matched an Orthopaedic surgery residency here locally at The University of Texas Southwestern. It was during his time at UTSW that he met his wife and eventual mother of their two children, Fallon.
After completing the rigorous training program at UTSW and Parkland Hospital, Dr. Hennessy decided to get a little bit more sunshine by completing his spine surgery fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Behrooz Akbarnia in San Diego, California. He knew he wanted to practice medicine back in Texas so he accepted his first position after training at a very well-known Orthopaedic surgery clinic in San Antonio, called The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group. After spending three years in San Antonio, Dr. Hennessy and his wife made the decision to return to his hometown of Dallas and he has been practicing at Texas Spine Consultants ever since. He is very honored to have the opportunity to practice medicine and serve the very community where he was raised.
Dr. Hennessy is a very accomplished spine surgeon for the treatment of all aspects of spine conditions. Dr. Andrew Park is a physician with a sense of balance and purpose in almost any situation. Dr. Andrew Park graduated with his medical degree from Northwestern University in 1997 and completed his residency at Rush Presbyterian, St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, IL in 2002. His spine fellowship was completed in 2003 at Emory University Spine Center and he is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Park founded the only spine fellowship program based in Dallas and was recognized by the North American Spine Society. Dovie McVean obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition of Allied Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in May of 1991. Ms. McVean earned her Masters of Science in Food Nutrition and Management at the University of Central Oklahoma in July of 1992 then went on to perform her Physician Assistant Preceptorship at Lutheran College of Health Professionals in Fort Wayne, Indiana between August 1995 and August 1997, where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant in August of 1997.
Ms. McVean has performed a variety of skills as a Physician’s Assistant over the last 22 years. She has triaged, diagnosed and treated illnesses and injuries from the neighborhood urgent care all the way to the emergency room. She has managed several clinical staff’s for 2 separate Orthopedic Clinics. She has performed as a first assistant in the operating room since 2001.
Dovie has been working as a Physician’s Assistant to Dr. Robert Myles since 2001. Whether she is providing nutritional information, urgent care and treatment, physical exams or even assisting in the operating room, Dovie feels her work is very rewarding by allowing her to provide hope and knowledge to those she helps.
Dovie is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
