As a Las Vegas native, Dr. Howard has worked in the surrounding Las Vegas area since the age of 15. He welded and fabricated as an iron worker to support his Bachelor's Degree, which he earned in Biological Sciences at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Dr. Howard then attended medical school at Touro University Nevada in Henderson. During this time, he helped organize and participated in medical missions to both Guatemala and Peru. These have been among the most rewarding experiences of his life.

He spent the following five years developing his clinical and surgical skills through the Valley Health System's Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Howard had wide-ranging exposure to sports injuries during this time, including both non-operative and surgical treatments.

After completing his surgical residency, Dr. Howard then elected to pursue additional fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery at the University of Texas — a busy Level I Trauma Center which has played a historic role in orthopedic surgery and is also home to many of the pioneers in the world of orthopedics.
