Asteghik Hacobian, MD, MA, FIPP, DABIPP, is a double board-certified physician who specializes in interventional pain medicine. Dr. Hacobian provides exceptional pain management services for men and women at the Rye and Plaistow, New Hampshire offices of Interventional Spine Medicine.
Dr. Hacobian obtained an undergraduate degree in biology with honors from Boston University in Massachusetts, where she remained to study for a master’s degree in vascular physiology. In 1990, Dr. Hacobian received her medical degree from Boston University. She went on to complete her internship in internal medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Hacobian completed her residency in anesthesia and critical care at the Harvard Medical School Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1995. She then undertook fellowship training in pain management at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Hacobian is board-certified in pain management and anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Hacobian joined Interventional Spine Medicine in 1995. From 1996-2008, she was also on the staff of Massachusetts General Hospital Pain Center and was a senior pain consultant at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts, until 2000. Dr. Hacobian has been involved in numerous research projects throughout her career and had papers on cell biology, anesthesia, and pain management published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Hacobian has given both national and international lectures on pain management, and in September 2007, she was awarded the Fellow of Interventional Pain Physician certificate by the World Institute of Pain in Budapest, Hungary.
