Dr. Arfsten is a native of Colorado, originally from Longmont. He currently resides in Littleton with his wife, Laurie, daughter, Jennifer, and sons, Sean and Samuel.
He received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, graduating with honors. Dr. Arfsten then completed his pediatric residency at Denver Children's Hospital in 1993 and joined the Academy Park Pediatrics team.
Dr. Arfsten is an active fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and an active member of the Arapahoe County and Colorado Medical Societies. He also gets pleasure from educating future pediatricians as an Associate Clinical Professor at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado.
He donates his precious time at the Denver Inner City Health Center, Warren Village, and performs physical exams for participants of the local Special Olympics. Dr. Arfsten also enjoys volunteering on international medical missions, fly fishing, and spending time with his family.

She was born in Muncie, Indiana, and received her medical degree from the University of Indiana School of Medicine in 2003. After graduating, she completed her pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in 2006. In 2013, Dr. Bowyer joined the Acamdeic Parks Pediatrics team.
She is an active fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Arapahoe County and Colorado Medical Societies.
Dr. Bowyer believes in the importance of providing comprehensive and compassionate care. She takes the time to listen to her patients' and their families' concerns without making them feel judged or rushed.

Dawn Kallio, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing high-quality care to patients at Academy Park Pediatrics in Lakewood and Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Dr. Kallio was raised in a military family and spent most of her life moving from place to place. She finished high school and college in Colorado and is now happy to call it home again.
She received her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Kallio then completed her residency training in 2008 at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center. She then moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado, in September 2008 and started working with Academy Park Pediatrics in October of that year.
Dr. Kallio is an active fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and an active member of the Arapahoe County and Colorado Medical Societies.
She loves her kids, her job, and enjoys partnering with parents to help them guide their children through early life so that each child can reach their full potential. Dr. Kallio sees herself as a strong advocate for children and finds building a relationship with her patients incredibly rewarding.
