Sydney graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to completing her Master’s, she earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology with university and departmental honors from Wayne State University.
Her passion for working with children took root during her college years while volunteering in the NICU/PICU at Children's Hospital of Michigan. These experiences, where she offered comfort and care to hospitalized children, solidified her commitment to pediatric healthcare and inspired her to pursue a career in this field as a PA.
Since joining our practice in 2020, Sydney has made it her mission to create a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment where children can receive high-quality medical care with confidence and ease.
Outside of work, Sydney enjoys boxing, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
With over 20 years of experience, Mohammad Al-Harastani, MD, FAAP, offers his patients unmatched expertise. Dr. Al-Harastani is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. At Lapeer Pediatrics in Lapeer and Flint, Michigan, he works tirelessly to help his young patients reach their full potential.
Dr. Al-Harastani attended medical school at Damascus University–Faculty of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. He later completed his residency through the graduate medical program of Seton Hall University at St Joseph's Children's Hospital in Patterson, New Jersey.
Dr. Al-Harastani provided medical care to a diverse group of patients throughout Michigan. He practiced at McLaren Lapeer Region and Great Lakes Urgent Care Group in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Dr. Al-Harastani also worked at McLaren Lapeer Region Community Medical Center for more than 10 years.
During each stage of his career, Dr. Al-Harastani retained his passion for family and community medicine. He remained committed to helping children thrive and supporting growing families. To further this goal, Dr. Al-Harastani established the Lapeer Pediatrics practice in 2007 and added the Grand Blanc/Flint location in 2024 . He also serves as an Assistant Professor and enjoys teaching medical students from Michigan State University, and physician assistants from University of Detroit Mercy.

Board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Sami's journey in medicine began at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric training at Michigan State University, honing his skills at Hurley Children's Hospital in Flint, Michigan—an experience that deepened his passion for caring for children.
At Lapeer Pediatrics and Harastani Pediatrics, Dr. Sami is committed to providing comprehensive, personalized care. Itemad Badr, MD, is a board-certified allergy and immunology physician at Asthma, Allergy, & Immunology Center, serving people of all ages living in and around Troy and Lathrup Village, Michigan.
Dr. Badr began her professional education at the University of Damascus in Syria, earning her Doctor of Medicine. Following graduation, she moved to the United States and completed residency training in the department of pediatrics at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Badr completed a fellowship in allergies and immunology at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.
Dr. Badr is a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics. She loves getting to know the people in her care and uses cutting-edge treatments to relieve uncomfortable symptoms and improve the quality of life.
Dr. Badr provides adult and pediatric allergy care at the Troy office on Mondays and Wednesdays and works out of the Lathrup Village office on Thursdays. She welcomes anyone experiencing allergies or asthma to the nearest practice location today.
