About Justin
I was born in Oklahoma City, OK and spent most of my childhood in Lake Charles, LA until my family moved to Franklin, TN in 2000. As a staff physical therapist at Mpower Physical therapy, I strive to provide care to those seeking to return to sport or their favorite daily activity. Outside of work, I enjoy rock climbing and hiking with my wife and serving the Franklin community through our local church. I am a huge Oklahoma Sooners football fan (BOOMER SOONER) and go to at least one game a year.
Personal Philosophy
Bring glory to God in everything that I do while leveraging everything he provides me to serve and honor the people he allows me to encounter.
Greatest Success
My greatest professional successes are twofold: the first is getting to work in my capacity as a Clinical Educator where I get to grow and teach throughout our company. The second is every time a patient is able to do something well that the first day of PT they told me they'd never be able to do again. That, and the excitement on their face as they return to what they love to do, is what makes it all worth it.
JI am a Chicago-area native and stayed in the Midwest to obtain my undergrad degree in Science-Business from the University of Notre Dame. I spent some time working as a physical therapy tech prior to moving to Nashville where I obtained my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Belmont University. I graduated from Belmont in 2021 and began my career as a staff therapist in outpatient orthopedics at Benchmark Physical Therapy. During my time at Benchmark I participated in their Orthopedic Residency program and recently sat for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist exam.
Why were you drawn to the health and wellness industry?
I have always enjoyed an active lifestyle and working out. While at Notre Dame I took anatomy during the second semester of my senior year and absolutely fell in love with the human body and how it works. Physical therapy seemed like the ideal career to work through the puzzles of the human body and also help others.
What are your expertise? (ex: certain sports, weight loss, etc.)
As a graduate of an orthopedic residency program, orthopedics truly is my area of expertise as I have spent the past year participating in advanced training in this area. My scholarly project for residency was centered specifically around evidence-based injury prevention of youth ice hockey players.
How would you describe the importance & benefits of the care/service you provide?
The goal of what I do as a physical therapist is to help people remain active at all different types of levels. Keeping people moving is ultimately how we are able to go about living our lives. Decreasing pain and improving activity in patients allows them to enjoy simple daily tasks or more rigorous activities. This impacts a patient’s physical well-being but also emotional and social well-being as well since pain-free movement is a crucial part of life.
What would you tell a new client/patient to expect about working with you?
YI am always excited to work with patients who are motivated to return to what they love doing. I will give 100% to my patients but expect that they give me 100% in return so that we are both fully invested in their treatment plan and can have the best result possible. I like to have fun and be creative to make sure we achieve a patient’s individual, personal, and meaningful goals.
Without naming names, tell us about a client success that makes you proud:
I met a patient for initial evaluation who was a young woman, mother, and full-time worker dealing with back pain that limited her ability to get through the day without pain which had persisted for years on end. She was upset and resistant to start PT because her doctor did not order an MRI and she did not know what was wrong with her. By the end of my hour with her, she was much more positive about how therapy can help, even without undergoing an MRI. After a few weeks of work, she was able to go through an entire day without back pain and resumed a normal work out routine. It felt great to help a “non-believer” experience and understand the benefits of physical therapy!
If you have one, what is your favorite motivational quote/mantra:
Today it hurts, tomorrow it works.
What is your Personal Training Philosophy?
Physical therapy is hard work, but it is worth it!
Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself? Accomplishments, interests, fun facts, etc?
With my free time I enjoy Broadway musicals, ice hockey, Baby Yoda, and obsessing over other people’s dogs especially French bulldogs and pugs. I am looking forward to learning more about working with post-operative patients and higher-level athletes during my time at MPower!

About Sarah
I was born and raised in Nashville and have no plans to leave any time soon! I grew up watching Vanderbilt sports - Go ‘Dores! - and the best job I ever had before becoming a PT was working at a summer camp driving boats and teaching kids how to ski and knocking them off the tube. I love watching sports and movies on TV, reading books and hanging out making memories with my husband, son and goldendoodle. My favorite vacation is skiing in Taos, New Mexico and my bucket list place to visit is Croatia.
Personal Philosophy
Everyone is an athlete - the setting just looks different from one person to the next! One person may be trying to get back to the soccer pitch, golf course or swimming pool while another may be wanting to get back to playing in the backyard with kids or the workplace or just to be able to keep taking care of themselves independently at home. It’s my job to help patients meet THEIR goals, no matter what they may be!
Greatest Success
I am truly most proud when I see a patient come in on their first day apprehensive, frustrated and sometimes downright grumpy and I can use my words and my skills to give them hope and wanting to come back again because they see the value in what I do. Nothing motivates me more than seeing patients want to get better and love coming to therapy because the atmosphere is unlike any other!
I was born in Athens, Georgia (Go Dawgs!), but have lived in the Middle Tennessee area for most of my life. I have 2 older brothers, a younger brother, and 2 older stepbrothers. In my free time, I really enjoy being active by going to the gym or playing recreational sports like softball, sand volleyball, and pickleball. I am a 2nd generation physical therapist, as my mom is a PT who works with the geriatric population.
In my academic and professional career, I have gained experience treating people of all ages – including high school and college athletes, adults suffering from orthopedic conditions and neurological disorders, or automotive industrial workers.
Why were you drawn to the health and wellness industry?
Despite never being the best athlete in the world, I have always enjoyed watching and playing a variety of sports. After going to college, I wanted to start a career where I could still be involved with sports in some capacity, which led me to Athletic Training. My experience with Athletic Training uncovered a passion for the rehabilitation aspect of sports medicine, putting me on the path to physical therapy.
Payton's Eexpertise
Having been a baseball player throughout my youth and suffering from persistent shoulder pain in my teenage years as a result, I really enjoy working with baseball players to prevent them from experiencing the same things I did as a player. However, I enjoy working with patients from all kinds of athletic/occupational backgrounds!
What to expect when working with Payton?
When starting PT with me, we will collaboratively determine what your goals are and the activities to which you want to return. The treatment plan that we develop will be centered around those goal so that you are seeing your progress toward achieving them in real time. I will be a source of encouragement and positive assurance, while giving you the tools to succeed long after our time working together is finished.
Client Success Story
During my time as a student, I worked with a patient who was recovering from ACL repairs in both knees. The added emotional strain of having their second surgery made it that much more important to be a source of comfort and encouragement for them. This patient made a significant amount of progress in the time that I got to work with them, and ended up fully recovering!
Favorite Motivational Quote
My favorite quote is, “Nobody who ever gave their best regretted it.” This quote has resonated with me since I was a teenager, and it has held true for me to this day. If you always give your best, then you know you did everything in your power to lead to the most optimal outcome!
Physical Therapy Philosophy
People are usually capable of accomplishing so much more than they realize, and that nobody should be limited by themselves or others due to an injury or condition. I firmly believe that growth occurs when you are challenged, and that is a mindset that I intend to instill in my patients.
Jess’s first experience with physical therapy came in high school following a knee surgery. She wanted to make the sort of difference that those therapists made in her life. After achieving her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, she began her career as an athletic trainer in Evansville, Indiana. In 2016, Jess joined Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics, later transitioning to MPOWER. Jess loves being active and struggles with a grueling frozen custard addiction. PHYSICAL THERAPY PHILOSOPHY
Without proper rehab after an injury or surgery, your body is not going to truly function at its highest capability. When there are undergoing problems, our body will compensate and that can lead to further problems and pain. With physical therapy, those issues are addressed and you can return to your activities without increased risk.
WHAT TO EXPECT ABOUT WORKING WITH JESS
I want each patient to reach their goals and approach their rehab with that in mind. I know that physical therapy is not everyone’s cup of tea, so I do my best to make it a comfortable and engaging session. I’m always willing to listen to my patients and guide them to their full potential.
HER GREATEST SUCCESS
Jess has one patient that has been able to return to golf following a rotator cuff repair. They are now training with the coaches at MPOWER without any pain and are better than ever.
“Jess is a very caring and knowledgeable physical therapist. This is the 2nd time I’ve had her during my physical therapy for 2 different surgeries. Even though all of the other therapist are great, I like going to someone who knows my health issues. 2 of the therapists in training, we’re great to work with also. They were Joseph and McLean. Elite and Mpower are the only orthopedics and therapists, that my husband I will go to! Thank you for everything!”

Hello, My name is Brett Koehn, physical therapist at David Price IMAC Regeneration Center in Brentwood, TN. I'm a native of Enid, Oklahoma where I grew up working in my family's auto parts store.
I attending University of Tulsa to earn my degree in Exercise and Sport Science. At Tulsa, I ran track and cross country. Some of my Cross Country and Track teammates were from Australia and New Zealand and suggested I attend graduate school overseas.
Knowing I didn't want to pursue a career in the auto parts business, I took a long 16-hour plane ride to Australia and lived there for 3 years while attending the University of Queensland. While I'm happy to be back in the USA, I do miss the beaches, the coffee, and of course seeing koalas and kangaroos.
Most people don't realize it, but a lot of manual therapy techniques originated in Australia. When I found out that manual therapy was the focus at Advantage Therapy - now Ozzie Smith Center, I knew right away this would be a good fit!
