He's board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and board-qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Weyandt works with patients at Louisville Foot and Ankle Specialists, with offices in Louisville, Leitchfield, Elizabethtown, Shepherdsville, Fern Creek, and Jeffersonville, Kentucky.
A Pennsylvania native, Dr. Weyandt was born and raised in the suburbs of Altoona. He attended the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown, where he was a member of the track and field team and developed a strong interest in medicine that led to the profession of podiatry.
Dr. Weyandt pursued a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. He then completed his residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Weyandt gained extensive training and exposure in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery at a level-one trauma center.
Following his residency, Dr. Weyandt returned to the state of Pennsylvania to complete an intensive one-year foot and ankle surgical fellowship in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, recognized by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He's also a proud member of the American Limb Preservation Society, providing care for diabetic limb salvage and preservation.
Dr. Weyandt's love for the city of Louisville prompted his return, and he now takes great pride in treating the needs of the community.
Dr. Weyandt is active in training residents at the Norton Podiatric Residency Program. He offers both conservative and surgical treatments and looks forward to working with you to get you back on your feet. In his spare time, Dr. Weyandt enjoys mountain biking and exploring the Louisville food scene.
Thomas Childress, DPM, has decades worth of experience in the medical field. He provides expert care to patients at Louisville Foot and Ankle Specialists. The practice has offices in Louisville, Leitchfield, Elizabethtown, Shepherdsville, Fern Creek, and Jeffersonville, Kentucky.
Along with running a successful private practice, Dr. Childress is also the associate medical director of the foot and ankle surgery training program at Norton Audubon Hospital in Lousiville, Kentucky. This program has successfully trained some of the best and brightest minds in podiatry today.
Dr. Childress is a Louisville native, having attended Pleasure Ridge Park High School. He graduated from the University of Louisville in Kentucky with honors. Then, he obtained his medical degree with highest honors from William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, a part of Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. After graduating, Dr. Childress completed a three-year foot and ankle residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Childress is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is also a member of the Kentucky State Board of Podiatric Medicine, which is a position appointed by the Governor of Kentucky.
Dr. Childress currently lives in St. Matthews, Kentucky. He is an avid snow skier. When not working, he enjoys running and cycling.
Dr. Childress has two sons in college, one at the University of Kentucky and the other at the University of Louisville. The family enjoys spending time together and traveling. Dr. Childress also enjoys thoroughbred horse racing and has had a horse run in the 2010 Kentucky Derby.
