He attended Mesquite High School in Gilbert, AZ and during his high school years he became interested in foot and ankle surgery after seeing many specialists for his own foot and ankle issues. After high school, Dr. Zafar attended Arizona State University where along with completing the required pre-medicine classes for medical schools, he was also able to complete a degree in Bachelor of Arts in History and minor in Small Business.

Dr. Rand is a Florida native who completed his Undergraduate degree at the University of Miami and then went on to Medical school at Barry University, School of Podiatric Medicine. He moved to Arizona for his residency training at Maricopa Medical Center. The advanced residency program at Maricopa included one full year of general surgery, which allowed Dr. Rand to become the third podiatrist in the country to own a General Surgery Internship Certificate. During his three years of residency he fell in love with Arizona and has called it home since 2007.

He did an amazing job on three different times I had to have ingrown toenail surgery removal each time was easier than the other with no pain, no long term healing time, And super great staff and easy after care instructions to follow.
